Could someone please help me?

Siamese Twin on 2001-03-14 19:35 [#00001034]

I have just bought a new CDRW drive for my PC, and I was
wondering: what are the 20 best Aphex Twin songs available?
I would really like to burn my own personal Twin album.

Also: can you please recommend some good electronica
artists? I really like this genre but know little about it,
so some recommendations would be very helpful.

Thanks.

Ross on 2001-03-15 01:53 [#00001044]

Id recommend (for other artists..)
Squarepusher- a journey to reedham (7am mix)
Mu-ziq- the fear
Mu-ziq- brace yourself jason
Plaid- dang spots
Boards of Canada- telephasic workshop

Ross on 2001-03-15 01:53 [#00001045]

you should buy compilation al if you
find some good artist.
so,first,
i'd like to recommend you 'wap 100 we are reasonable
people'.
includible boc,autechre,jimitenor,afx,red snapper,etc....

think from hi on 2001-03-15 22:36 [#00001068]

is it warp 100 or war 100?
also thats kool if you "burn" your own compilation, but dont
steal music that is currently running in press. just out of
print stuff.

also......cylob, boards of canada, plaid, plone, unit,
weavie stunder adn more....................thanks.think

Id Lab from Preston, UK on 2001-03-16 00:29 [#00001071]

Neither, it's WAP100.

You want:
Autechre - Envane (Latent Quarter)
FSOL - My Kingdom (single version)
Squarepusher - Come On My Selector
Krust/Saul Williams - Coded Language
Add N To (x) - Little Black Rocks In The Sun
Boards of Canada - Aquarius
Makanouchi Bento - Patchouliforme
Something by Photek
Something by Rawakari
Something by Kid 606
Something by Matmos
Something by Mouse On Mars
Something by Stars Of The Lid
Something by Lamb

I'd better stop now, I've described a whole CD full. But you
ought to buy at least some of those, not just MP3 them.

the webmaster speaks :)!

i personally couldn't be without:

-Girl/Boy Song
-Flim
-Digeridoo (a "radio" edit tho, perhaps)
-ICCT HEDRAL just 'cause Philip Glass works well
-Alberto Balsalm

not the original "Ventolin" tho.

anyway my two Cdn. cents.

Siamese Twin: i'm really Siamese, how about you =)? which
artists do you currently like apart from the Twin? if we
knew more about your personal preferences, i'm sure we could
help you further! 'cause "electronica" is pretty broad and
all... some people like Aqua next to their Aphex Twin ;).

D-Hex from KC Missouri on 2001-03-19 19:19 [#00001177]

Hey buddy, dont forget to put on your cd -
Aphex Twin - Arched Maid via RDJ
U-Ziq - Hasty Boom Alert
- Midwinter Log
Those are my personal favorites at the time being.

Torley Wong from Vernon, BC, Canada / WWW.TORLEY.COM on 2001-03-20 12:42 [#00001227]

D-Hex: right. "Arched Maid via RDJ" is ace! i like the
sinewy melody very much.

as for Mu-ziq, i humbly suggest adding "The Hwicci Song",
it's kind of like hippity-hoppity children's music. kind of.
IMGO of course.

Thanks everyone!

I've decided to make 3 compilations

The first is all regular Aphex stuff.
the second is non-ambient electronica from other artists.
The third is full of ambient stuff.
I've mixed them specially in mixeister
(http://www.mixmeister.com)
I'm also burning for a couple of m8s.

Thanks for your suggestions - I've discovered loads of cool
artists, like Autechre (they rule)... I am going to buy Tri
Repetae now.
