Good Strings

Does anyone know any good soul achingly depressing string
songs. Any kind of string arrangments violin, cello, etc.
The simplier the better. If I'd give an example of a song
that embodies what I'm looking for the main theme from
Requiem For A Dream Soundtrack would be it.

Hmm. How about "A Few Hours after this" by The Cure.

Some of Craig Armstrong's stuff is ok. Hardly avant-garde
but nice enough.

I tried to download Ennio Morricone on Audiogalaxy, but they
didn't have any of his shizz.

Hybrid kick ass... Already have the CD and am going to
listen to it again. Thanks

Willaim Orbit crap.

I listened to barber's adagio for strings long before I
heard the William Orbit version. whenever I hear it now, I
can't get Orbits version out of my head. It's quite catchy,
not the vorst 'classical remix' I've heard.
