Hello, everyone. I finished my record. Some of the songs I was 14/15 when I made, but it shows. :)
Some stuff I like. The only person who's ever heard my music, apart from me, is flea. If anyone wants to check some stuff out and give me some negative or positive feedback, that'd be greatly appreciated.
My music
Thirteen all-new tracks of Spookyluke material. :) Again, anything would be greatly appreciated--I won't ever post about my music again, so this is a one-time thing. :)
Thanks in advance, Luke

Oh yah--I forgot about that! The stream option won't work. My friend from Boston hosts my site and I thought I could create m3u playlists and have users open them remotely, but it doesn't work! :(

I'm not sure if you'll like the last one--it borders on ambient at the beginning. Something bonus for David Lynch fans at the end though. :)

hahahaha Thanks, diemax! I kinda like axons, too. I think it's the first of my old songs that was listenable over and over again.

Yah--I figure most won't like the last track. It's something I like that reminds me of Blue Velvet :)

yeah it did...a bit..but the humming ambience is more of an Eraserhead thing isn't it?

I actually haven't seen Eraserhead yet! :( I've heard it's nearly impossible to get in the U.S. The sample at the end was from "blue velvet" and some of the other sounds just reminded me of Frank, for some reason.
How good is eraserhead? I've heard it's terrifying, yah?

definately some unique shit... some of it seemed to get a bit repetative at times like on sey and ascension... but otherwise i'd say mostly good music... yeah

I mean I am pretty jaded was a janitor in the University morgue for a bit so conventional horror isnt that horrifying to me..but yeah Eraserhead is a pretty unnerving experience..but not for the obvious reasons..from the start Lynch sets a tone, landscape and especially pacing which is so familiar and yet totally alien..all of the events seem to be at odds and out of key..the characters speak with a lot of deliberation and respond to situations in totally unpredictable..sometimes totally in appreopriate ways..for the viewer it's a matter of learning to adapt to an entirely new universe with it's own logic and rationale which is what makes it such a difficult viewing...reviewers keep calling it dream logic but it's beyond that...I have never been able to take it all in in one sitting..becomes a claustrophobic experience...you need a breather after about half an hour....

Thanks! Yah--I don't like all the repetition. I'm trying to get away from that more.
Thanks though!

Sounds cool! I'd love to see as many Lynch films as possible. I thought Blue Velvet was great. And Lost Highway I'm not sure I understood fully.

just finished listening to Sey..and I kinda agree with diemax...some very good sounds nice beats..but the main melody line is a bit too repetitive and a tad annoying..it' also a tad sparse..I wanted to hear more of that looped machine noise..from the begining...
Elation is mush better at the start..sets a wonderfuly creepy and ominous atmosphere..you are really good at these sampled machine drones and groans but seem to be a bit shy about using them..if I had samples and parts this good I would turn them right up and let them take centre stage..I much rather hear you playing, distorting and modifying them rather than the piano line..which is once again mixed a bit too loud and is a bit repetitive..I prefer it when the 808 picks up the same patterns...I can absolutely understand where you are coming from..crossing over from Industrial to IDM the biggest and most daunting difference is the abundance of gorgous melodies in IDM..but dont feel compelled to rush into them..start slow and small and have little melodies buried as undercurrent under your stronger points..i.e...samples vocals, noises signals etc..and slowly bring them up to the forefront...autechre are masters at this...
my opinion...anyway the first 52 seconds of Elation is one of the best things I have heard from anyone here for a while :)..more of that please...

Thanks, flea! GOod suggestions! I do the tracks differently--some I do like just a drum beat in one pattern and a melody in another and combine them all how I want in the playlist.
Some I do complete musical (?) phrases and then line them up with the playlist.
So I try different things there.
I'll definitely be trying to learn from this! :D Can I send you an zipped loop package when I finsih my next one? That's probably quicker and easier than messing with mp3s anyway!

Yah--I think floops has got some good basic samples for manipulating.
Something in one of the drumsynth kits sounds a lot like the infamous "boop boop" in soft cell's tainted love ;)
yay! :D

404? Say--what's this granular synthesis? I was playing with it and made a snare rush tonight.
I have to get to bed now though--near midnight! See you later! Thanks again!
