Hey guys! I'm new to this wonderful site and would like to
ask everyone, how would you rate some of these fine actors
in the scale of 1 to 10, and if you can be bothered then
tell a reason, why you rated them that way too, ok here
goes:
Johnny Depp(Edward Scissorhands, Fear And Loading In Las
Vegas, From Hell, Donny Brasco)
Sean Penn (Dead Man Walking, I Am Sam, Carlito's Way)
Brad Pitt (12 Monkeys, Kalifornia, Se7en)
Denzel Washington(Malcolm X,Training Day, Philadelphia)
Tom Hanks(Castaway, Philadelphia, Saving Private Ryan)
Jimmy Stewart(It's A Wonderful Life, Vertigo, Rear Window)
Russell Crowe(Insider,A Beautiful Mind, Gladiator)
Marlon Brando(The Godfather, On The Waterfront, A Streetcar
Named Desire)
Robert De Niro(Taxi Driver, Raging Bull)
Edward Norton(Fight Club, American History X, Primal Fear)
Al Pacino(Scarface, Scent Of A Woman, Godfather)
Kevin Spacey(American Beauty, Usual Suspects)
I put some films in there too, in case someone doesn't
recognise the names.:-)

Thanks!

Any women in there?

I am not placing any numbers on those actors, many of whome
are known as male sex symbols, without being able to rate
some females at the same time.

Heh.

This is a mixture of my opinion and bias... cause some of
these I really dig cause of their personalities/choice of
roles

Johnny Depp - 8 (generally excellent)
Sean Penn - 6 (nice style, some iffy choices)
Brad Pitt - 8 (fully proven as not just a pretty face)
Denzel Washington - ? (never seen a film with him in it)
Tom Hanks - Old 'thin' Tom from 80's - 7 / New 'fat' Tom
90's ono - 4
Jimmy Stewart - ? never seen one
Russell Crowe - 5 (pompous git but good presence)
Marlon Brando - 7 (mad loon)
Robert De Niro - 9 (one character in every film, but a great
character)
Edward Norton - 9 (see above)
Al Pacino - 9 (see above)
Kevin Spacey - 8 (great fun to watch)

large...Eyeball Paul is such an apt caricature of wanky
Superstar DJ tosser...and Twin Town is an unappreciated
classic

What I mean, is that I didn't think if you're from New
Zealand, that there would be many typical Welsh youngsters
living there... cause man, that film is Swansea to a tee.

I meant an oblivious, somewhat revolting yet inexplicably
affable slob that will resort to wearing womens underwear
when they run out of clothes to wear and/or coin to feed the
laundromat...and..ahem...Once Were Warriors..though I wont
mind it..does not give a complete picture of NZ...

saying they're kinda opposite ends of the spectrum =o)

Yeah, Gary Oldman is a great actor too, but i believe he has
a somewhat limited range, and doesn't quite deserve to be
there with the others:P

Yeah limited range is like the oposite of Gary Oldman.
I have never seen an actor with bigger range than that man.
Theres not an accent or part he can't do.
He is known for his BIG range for christs sake???

De Niro needs shooting now. He's been in such crap for years
now. His speech at the Tribute to Heroes was the icing on
the turd for me. Al Pacino is the don of acting.

starred in some pretty crap films lately (15 Minutes,
Showtime, Men Of Honor....) The Score was alright, tho.

can't understand why Dennis Hopper ever carved out a career
in acting - he's shit.
