I have spent all afternoon looking up stuff on Boards of
Canada. I'm really fascinated by all these early obscure
releases that they have produced. how the hell did nobody
notice them for so long. Or was it just me? And does anyone
have any of these really early BoC albums, like Catalogue 3?
I'd love to hear them.

everything before twosim was pretty limited as far as i
know, to the point where most of the releases are owned by
friends of boc. somebody here has mentioned that warp
bought the rights to all the old releases and is going to
release them.

can anybody verify this or is it just rumor?

I think the Warp thing is just a rumour. You won't find
anything of the really old stuff...

finally i bought geogaddi...only to discover if it's the
masterpiece it claims to be...

Geogaddi never claimed to be a masterpiece... the hype was
from the media, and I guess fans... I think it's an
excellent album, but it's a shame about all the hype,
because I think a lot of people have been dissappointed with
it because of their super high expectations...

it's quite close to a masterpiece...i must listened to it
again tough...track 20(the one with the piano?!) is
wonderful...I can't understand why boc use often short
tracks...i think they could be miles better than the long
ones if they gave them the dignity of aproper song

I think BoC albums are probably meant to be listened from
the beginning to the end... that way the length really
doesn't matter right, cause it's all like one big song...
but yeah, it would be nice to get like 9 or 10 long tracks
on one album, and that be it...

I really hate when i find an awesome melody and i'm sure it
will be my fav track for months...and then i discover it's
20 seconds long

i know exactly how you feel. the album is full length, but
the transitions from track to track are not seemless. a
track gets going and then it's done suddenly and you have to
reorient yourself for the next one and forget the short blip
before it, as if it never inticed you.

the prime example of BoC's ability to seamlessly blend
tracks would have to be tracks 8, 9, and 10 on MHTRTC, imo.
does anyone else think that these 3 tracks just make love to
one another??!?! Oh god.. I have to listen to that CD now!
.... stupid school, why cant it be out now?
