huh when does a face appear??
when u make a spectral image of the track??
freq | | X X | | X | | XXXXXXX |______________ time
0 5 10
when u view a sample in spectral view the computer makes an image of the sound, where you can see of witch frequenties the sound consist
in the example at time index "5" there's a low, and a hig freq. sound
hope i explained it ... dont think so but i tried...

the spectrogram software uses fourier analysis to convert the audio to frequency form. that is after the transform you've got information on what frequencies are being played and with what intensity.
then the spectrogram plots this with different colours for different intensities and moves the picture up, before repeating.
to make something appear like a pictutre on a spectrogram you just have to play the right frequencies for the right amount of time. there are programs out there who will make samples out of pictures, so this isn't difficult. check out coagula for example.
