Now when you have listened to Confield (Ae) for a couple of
weeks, what do you think?

They should've started the album with track 6 (or the one
that sounds like eerie swarming bee stingers and earwig
pincers, I'm pretty sure it's 6) The last song was awesome
too, but the end took too long and wasn't too good. The
beginning of that track was excellent though. Track 6
though, really is a new innovative track that is extremely
exceptional and on par with their best stuff (and aphex's
best).
Many songs seem to go on too long. The whole album is a
worthy purchase for sure. It'll have me thinking a long time
from now. I'll probably start liking a song I don't really
like at present. It's weird how the more complicated albums
take time to get used to. They sound almost crappy at first
listen, but they get better and better. On the other hand,
simple music like depeche mode's "violator" album sounds
absolutely brilliant on first listen, but gets worse and
worse with repeated listens.

honestly i haven't listened to it much lately. i keep
thinking that if any undiscovered artist had released it it
would never have been published. it is deffinately original
but i just don't find it very pleasant to listen to. i give
it 3 stars out of 5. i still like chiastic slide and lp 5 or
ep 5 or whatever better.

ARGH! Its a good album, I never liked it as much, and still
don't. But, I do think its a REALLY good album. Definintly
glad I have it.

Right now I rank autechre albums in this order, which might
change (best to worst)

lp5 (autechre)
ep7
tri rep
chichli suite
confield
chiastic slide
etc.

So confield doesn't rank that high RELATIVE to other
autechre albums. However, when you take into account that
autechre are superior RELATIVE to almost every other music
artists in general, even confield is very very excellent.
(subjectivity given)

um, i think you're forgetting incunabula.. it seems not as
many people have listened to this album; maybe because it's
their first one? it is excellent though, totally different
than their newer work but quite amazing considering it was
made in 1993 or something like that. worth picking up.
