ever hear a really famous song that kinda ripped off aphex
twin? here are 3 examples, see if you can add more.

three 6 mafia "sippin' on some syrup" - underground
southern rap group's biggest/most mainstream single. listen
to the production. when i first heard it i sworte it was
just a looped sample of something from SAW 85-92.

linkin park "crawlin'" - is anyone with me on this?
it's more robert miles-esque, but i know the band is really
into idm and aphex twin in particular, so i can't help but
think the music (verses only, not the guitar chorus) was an
homage to early aphex material.

christina aguilera "genie in a bottle" - actually i
don't know if i agree with this. stuart from the band mogwai
said this, it was one of those nme articles where they give
famous musicians' impressions of a certain artist (ie: aphex
twin). i disagree stylistically, but some of the production
tricks are similar to aphex (grit your teeth and listen).

I've never noticed that before, maybe cause I'm not to fond
of those 3 people that you mentioned. But when I listen to
either of those three I'll keep in mind your comparison.

I like the way you shuddup pluge very well done.

i don't own or plan to own any of their albums, but cos of
the aphex influence i enjoy the songs to a certain degree
(especially 3 6).

can anyone think of any other mainstream songs with aphex
twin style production? you guys must know that mainstream
artists namecheck aphex twin as an influence all the time in
interviews. even lo-fi indie rockers sebadoh are huge into
aphex twin.

the sounds used and the rhythmic feel in genie in a bottle
definitely remind me of the rdj album. it might have just
been the producer trying to make a faster peppier version a
timberland-type track though, who knows.
