BOC synth....

On Thursday, I saw Medeski, Martin, and Wood. John Medeski
(the virtuoso keyboard player) has a mirad of keyboard
instraments on stage....the ones that I'm positive of are a
Honner Clavinet, Fender Rhodes, Hammond B-3, and the grand
piano. He's got a bunch of other goodies (boxes with many,
many knobs). Durning the middle of the show, he plays alone
on one of the keyboards, and it was the classic BOC
pentrating warm full synth sound that I love more than life
itself.....

Anyone know where it comes from?

freedom totally void of ego....great sound....

Yes, actually BoC synths are esay to make, just layer a few
synths and use lots of reverb, flanger....I made a BoCish
Synth "ensemble" in Fruity Loops, if ya want Ill send it to
ya !

send away....I have a couple 'made' ones on my XP-60....but
it's missing the 'fullness' like vinyl 'fullness'......

speaking of vinyl, I could just use my Fusion Vinyl....they
abuse that.....

I think they only use samplers and a couple of synths. a lot
of their music is actually sounds slowed down flipped
reversed atc

Whatever the fuck they do, whatever the fuck they use, their
synth sounds are PERFECT, I never get bored of it, even if
they used the same sound in different tracks. Flawless
stuff, those beautiful bastards.

I love the way that you can barely hear some of the synth
sounds (Kid for Today, Everything you do....)....there mixes
are tight.....fuckers.....

BoC has used two SH-101's in the past...nobody knows what
the BoC 'secret weapon' is though.

BoC's amazing sounds don't come from one 'secret weapon'
synth, they spend a long time with each sound making it
perfect.

In your sampler, layer let's say three sine waves, set a
really slow LFO to modulate the pitch of the first wave,
then do the same with the second wave but change the LFO
rate to slightly slower and use it to nagative modulate the
pitch, keep the third normal.

Hey presto! BOCish synth!
