to be part of the select group of humans who knew aphex
twin was cool before aphex twin was cool?

heard On in 1993 and liked it but didn’t get hooked til

i dunno i came in around summer 2001 a few months before
drukqs came out which i still consider "the new aphex twin
album" so i've always felt like a newshit who only joined
after it was already over

1994 through mtv for me, late to the party for a brit but

real Boomer move.

i got into aphex when i saw come to daddy on muchmusic
(canadian mtv) on a show called the wedge, same episode had
other cunningham mvs like portishead, bjork, squarepusher,
this was late 90s and changed everything for me, before that
the electronica id heard was mortal kombat soundtrack, fat
of the land and some older moby like everything is wrong. i
used a friends computer in 2001 to download shitloads of
aphex on kazaa, and used aphextwin.nu to get familiar with
warp records stuff. was there when drukqs came out and
joined the hype. found xltronic in 2002-2003 and now its
2026.

to echo darius, i felt like a newfag cause everyone here had
already experienced the early to mid 90s aphex and while i
feel deeply nostalgic for it, i was late to the party for
that material. tho in hindsight, all the people that jumped
on the aphex wagon after syro i feel like an oldfag now.
