i do forget how expensive meat can be, i'm cursed with a
vegetarian girlfriend and i basically never buy fresh cuts.
it's by far the most fun to cook too!

I made pulled pork in my instant pot

(pork sirloin roast, a big one, $11 usd)
(1 cup apple juice, less than $0.25 usd for the cups worth)
(1 teaspoon liquid smoke, $0.25)
(spices: salt, pepper, cayanne pepper, chili powder, garlic
powder, onion powder, I'll round up to $1.50 USD)
"everything" buns (3.50 USD)
store bought coleslaw ($3.85 USD)
store bought "deviled egg potato salad (6.50 USD)

Served open face on buns with a bit of mayo and black pepper
on the bun. I didn't count the mayo in the cost, not much
used.

Total:
$26.85, provided 4 meals for 2 people, so 8 meals total.
$3.35 per meal. Tasted excellent too, Instant pot cooks that
whole thing in 40 min.

the deviled egg potato salad wasn't AMAZING but it was fine
for grocery store side.

The meat was cut into two inch cubes with spices applied
before going in the instant pot with the apple juice and
liquid smoke.

The buns were toasted. The coleslaw was added to the buns.
The potato salad served on the side.

bros REALLY sorry I forgot to tally in the BBQ sauce! Mighta
kept some of you tossing and turning last night, so big
apologies.

after the meat comes out (it shreds like butter after 40 min
insta pot) I toss it with Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. Honey
or Spicy versions, doesn't matter, I have both on hand.
Sweet Baby Ray's is the best store bought bbq sauce.

$1 USD worth of sauch divided by 8 meals is an additional 12
cents, bringing the total cost of meal to $3.47.
