Has Viz gone woke? I don't buy it so much. I got the October issue and it was very poor, but then I got the Christmas issue for young Master Randy and that was a lot better. I think I saw one bit in it that might have tediously said the right things about someone like Suella Braverman or Allison Pearson but I ignored it. I can't read Private Eye now though, they've gone daft. |

I've said it a hundred times but I did once have a single panel cartoon "Elton's John" in there. There is a newer guy that does these horribly contrived, unfunny strips that I think they just use as filler. I like the Craft Ale Twats, ... I was thinking about Ravey Davey and Student Grant. ... I think my favourite bits are the expose articles, School Janitor reveals his explosive sex life secrets, that sort of thing. Or the ones that are like Look and Learn illustrations. There was one that had about King Alfred couldn't deliver his speech because he'd been to France and drunk the water and was now stuck on the toilet and nobody could hear what he was saying due to the sound of his "plops and farts" - and this actually reduced me to tears but I've never found it again. I tell you one thing they erased, and that was the advert for Japanese Bonsai Cocks. But I remember it, oh yes. |
