Confirmed: Netflix Scrapped David Lynch's ‘Unrecorded N...

Been whispers about a new david lynch project (with tweets
from ppl involved) for awhile.

This is the most official statement i've seen about it being
shitcanned.

I'll survive with no more new Lynch. He's getting old,
smoked his whole life, probably almost dead. But this woulda
probably hit the spot if it actually came out.

The article ends with a bit of hope, so here's to one more
Lynch project. In the meantime I think I'm due for a Blue
Velvet rewatch, been maybe 10 years.

i read the other day Blue Velvet is morally questionable. i
forgot what it's about, though. so i probs should rewatch,
too. i'm not much into his movies anymore, though. though,
also, he seems like a cool person.

It was quasi-reported that it was going to be a new Twin
Peaks project,

but honestly too many have died (many since the 2017
Showtime series) for it to be worthwhile.

dead twin peaks stars.

Contrast to to Star Trek:TNG which aired even earlier and
the main cast is all going strong. (The shittiness of PICARD
probably took a few years out of them). For TP tho, lot of
deaths that were too young here, it's kind of cursed. Not as
bad as Babylon 5 where the entire cast like died of cancer
age 50-60 tho.

memory

There was some talk (even at the time) that Blue Velvet was
misogynistic for what Lynch asked Isabella Rossellini to do
(in her nude freak out scene).

But even Rossellini shits on that take.

‘I Was an Adult. I Chose to Play the Character. I'd say anyone complaining should eat a dick
and enjoy the pure Lynchian vibes.

don't do it. PLEASE. Just preserve the characters. The
actual show ends with Picard coming to play poker with the
crew, and that's the best ending.

Its should have ended with Picard going "earl grey...hot"
then he sipped it and it was cold piss and he turned around
and Q winks at him the disappears, and you hear his laugh
echoing of into space

well, almost as good, but instead you got a millenial black
women blowing literal vape smoke in his face and telling him
he was a piece of shit for living on a vinyard. (In a
communist society with no money, btw)

ALMOST as good.

no jokes

Picard is the worst show i have ever attempted to watch.
We're years past the first ep now and I'm gonna keep saying
it. Never seen worse.

Contrast that with the Twin Peaks (2017) sequel.... one of
the very best. I will miss David Lynch very, very much when
he's gone.

for instance, if he's too old, he could still executive
produce: help a fresh and new generation

yeah he's not dead man, don't get me wrong. He's just smoked
for a long time and I'm worried about him. I smoke too, so
he's like a bad role model in that way. But he IS alive and
I do genuinely love him.

P.S. He had a cool art exihibit in the last month or so:

Lynch's Thinking Room. Pretty damn rad.

The touch here with the different digit sizes on
the clock is super cool, and super lynch. No AI will ever be
able to get something just this right.

I didn't mean to say he's already dead, but I am starting my
grieving process a bit early, especially if he doesn't get
this last show. I can't see him doing another.

I do think it's weird that they brought scarcity back into a
post scarcity society. Maybe they thought it would be
"gritty".

i wonder how many packs of cigarettes he smokes. i don't
think you can smoke 3 packs a day and live to 78 so maybe 2?

It is interesting thinking about how "Netflix" does not
have any faculty to even start to think about what.... wait
what were talking about?

enjoy the return mr mcqueen, it's great.

it's ofc BETTER if you've seen the show and the movie FIre
Walk With Me (my fave lynch), but in the end I don't think
it's strictly necessary.
