Looking for possibilities to play mp3s on my analogue
stereo, without having to start the pc. Any suggestions?
Dongles, apps, standalone players. Anything goes. What do
you use and are you satisfied with it?

ok, simple sentences:
i have a old stereo receiver,
dont want to run a pc to quickly play mp3s, flac
and what not.

would love to buy a music playing device to use with my
stereo.
or maybe a dongle that allows to play music from my mobile
on the old stereo.

voice controlled preferrably.

do you lot play digital music and how?

if you dont want to give away private details,
you can always say "a friend of mine uses..."
but it seems ill have to find something myself.

example:
"a friend of mine uses alexa, he says its fantastic"
or
"why dont you buy one of these dongles, that let you connect
your android phone to your pre-war antique non-wifi
receiver?"
or
"use the internet, dork"
(my favourite)

Phone to stereo using aux port.
Most likely on phones end you'll need a USB to aux dongle.
Unless it's an older phone, in which case it'll have an aux
port itself.
At that point you can talk to your phone and it will control
audio in the stereo,
But is plugging all that in faster than just booting the pc
which it already sounds like you have connected? Questions
you'll have to answer.
Goodluck, godspeed.

the point exactly is to not plug in anything.
there are bluetooth adaptors and im most likely gonna buy
one,
so i can just flip the switch on the power cord and
receiver, woofer (in the pool) and 5v bluetooth adaptor are
ready to go. speak or type something into my phone and can
play internat radio, mp3s and playlists from the couch, bed
and so on.
my phone has just about the size to store a sufficient
amount of music. just gotta hook it up to the pc every once
in a while to get new stuff on it.

however im having trouble installing a voice activated app
on my huawei. so far nothing worked.
amazons voice activaion works pretty well on youtube videos
in the living room, but i dont want to run a tv when i just
want to listen to music.
so far NONE of amazons products seem to have a standalone
aux output. its ridiculous. i was thinking about using a
fire tv cube to use all tv, series and music in one device
and storage, but no, they have to spare the aux output,
stupid fucks.apparently everyone is supposed to have echo
(TM) or certain bluetooth tech to replace cables. i have no
clue wether a fire tv cube would connect to a third party,
lets say, logitech bluetooth to audio adaptor, but that
would be a workaround. for another 40€ to the 150€ cube
tv device.

ok,
so if i hook up fire tv cube with hdmi to tv,
and for music:
hdmi to receiver via a hdmi -> cinch audio cable (15€)
it will do practically everthing i want.
then i can hook up a unused ssd as music storage,
old media players as movie storage,
use netflix and everything else connected by voice command,
over the fire tv remote and the installed apps on there.
going to test the apps with my current cheapo fire tv stick
(and a usb otg spliter cable) to see if works fine.
