yeah, it goes astray from the books. and i can't help imagining it's these studio boss like people at Apple asking for human drama stuff, just like with For All Mankind
Asimov is terrible at writing humans, so it should be good they're adding. but, like, it's hard to write well. and probably it's not terrible, just like with Legacy of Monsters. but since there's also brilliant series...

i rewatched Sopranos during Covid
honestly i'm too sensitive for it. the first time i watched it, back in the day, i couldn't stand the violence. watching it now, i knew exactly when there would be a terribly violent thing and i knew to brace myself. but this time over it depressed me because i could imagine it being real: real maffia existing and thriving (though as they say in the series: 'it's over for the little guy', there's less room for this sort of stuff, with now multinationals being the bad guys, but that's another depressing topic)
