IJN Sp0CHss (3:03)

Been working on this one for awhile. I dedicated my last
track (xmas eve 2022) to mermaid man. He called it, I
believe "dope with some turdy streaks."

I dedicate this one to ijonspoches. ijon I'm not trying to
lick your balls or ass or anything. I like the phonetics
(almost linearly alphabetical) of your name. and I like your
posts.

ijonspeches is a "load bearing" member of xltronic. If no
one else replies to your post, ijon probably will, and it
will be a genuine response where he actually read your
ramble.

ijon: The angry Joe Pesci sample is not directed towards you
(or my mother, who is a lovely person). That said, you can
have the melody in the last 1/3rd which I think is genuinely
pretty, and it took a lot of work bc melody doesn't come
super easily to me. wtf is C-flat? I dunno. I just go by
ear. Aside from Joe Pesci, and some individual drum hits,
there are no samples here, just hand sequencing and
composition.

thx for listening

thx for your kind words. i love the track!
dig these kind of breaks and intensity, the pesci ramble,
lovin the way it develops into the melodic warble and its
athmosphere. sounds to me like some time went into doing
this, so thx for naming/dedicating it after me.
i shall blast this in the car today making deliveries :)

thanks for listening and glad you liked it!

@recycle thx as well but that Inner Hill guy ain't me! Dunno
why he's popping up in a playlist algo, mb cause I listened
to his new stuff last week.

i'm digging it, never knew how to pull off that boc-ish
burble in the melody. only pointer i would give really is it
sounds a little snapped-to-grid but i'm a terrible one for
fetishising shuffle

Thx belb! It's good feedback and I can make use of it. I can
definitely hear that slightly off-grid swagger in your
music, and it's dope.

I'm pretty sensitive to rigidity myself and I think I
mitigated *most* of it here, but I'm sure I missed a couple
of spots. I'll have to come back to the track in a few
months to hear it with fresh ears. Anyway thx again and
appreciate the Advanced Listenâ„¢

today is my last day "chillin" in fresno. Driving back to
the bay tonight and start work again thursday.

In the last 6 months I have:

dropped 35 lbs, still did a lot of cooking tho. I make all
the food here, wife does all the dishes. Good system.

made a few cool tracks, including this one

played a lot of video games

watched some anime (this is mainly my wife's passion but I
enjoy some as well)

chatted on xlt

racked up $11,000 in credit card debt, since I was out of
wokr. I can pay this off in roughly 3 years.

I have no regrets, I think it was the best possible use of
my money atm.

As a true nerd, I compiled a list of all the games I played
below:

the best games I played of all those were Path of Exile (as
always), Dark Souls: Remastered (it's just the best), and
Return of the Obra Dinn. I really enjoyed Dwarf Fortress as
well, but need to play more.

i help to manage a mid-size security company that currently
has more contracts than it can handle

stay up at my mom's house here in the bay for 4 days

then jam back (3 hr drive) to fresno where my house is for 3
days.

that's my life, down and back, down and back. No complaints
but it's really a lot of driving. I needed that bit of time
off even tho it was $$$ expensive.

hehe, bit of a mix up. that was me in a blue space overall,
like they use on formal nasa occasions. my wife was dressed
as a pacman ghost (Blinky).
But i have a Gianni cover art, where i am 3,9 years old, in
blue flap trousers, wearing a red cap on top of the great
canyon. very mario like, which is why i picked it for the
chiptune tracks.

if you or someone does a crazone track,
it shall be happy dancy and all warped around the edges :)

ty for listening peeps

these are definitely jammy, janky, meandering little
spams... but on my end they were actually high effort,
"tryhard" (as the kids say) attempts at making actual music.
It means a lot to even get a few listens, you guys make me
happy.

ijon: lol at STEINfeld. Funny how "Stein" became a synonym
with hardcore in IDM. Squarepusher's Steinbolt is one of my
favorite trax from him. Amd Steinvordhosbn was my favorite
Belch puppet.

I made the seinfeld association with that bass funk too.
Track's a couple months old, and I'm done with it now, but
for a sec I wanted to add a sample of Geroge saying "....but
I made all these sandwiches!" from the episode where he's
trying to impress Elaine's "cool" boyfriend by making
sandwiches for their rock climbing adventure. Just didn't
get around to adding it.

Re: Seinfeld in germany- I remember visiting my pops in 2005
and showing him a couple of episodes. My favorite ep, "The
Gum" and then the classic "Soup Nazi." He had never seen it
before, but he quite enjoyed them. At the time, he said
Seinfeld wasn't popular there, and probably wouldn't
trasnlate for German audiences (not just in language, but in
the type of humor). That was almost 20 years ago and media
is more global now, I wonder how that's changed.

its a nice track, beyond loops on the melodic side and
meandering enough on the beats side. just wished it longer,
bringing the beat back at the end one more time.

ticked boxes on all references, i was kind of expecting a
seinfeld sample somwhere since you have a sample in a lot of
your tracks. would have been fun for the lol,
maybe have two versions ^^

when i downloaded the tracks i put them into a folder with
previously downed tracks incl the hamburglar one. kicking
them in the car from time to time..

the show ran in germany, during a time when i had no cable.
my best buds were rampant on it. kramer obviously, but i
think it was somewhat of a success, with daily airings in
the late afternoon around the simpsons spot. watched a few
episodes this year from the first season on netflix and
tried german and english, both work pretty much the same
way. neurotic behaviour and getting yourself in trouble is
classic in sitcoms and i think the dubbing was well done. NY
also seems quite a bizzarro world with different incomes
clashing on every corner. you never got this in, lets say,
friends.
