I'm going back to work in the bay soon. I've had a nice
sabbatical.

We have a lot of extra food I need to make use of before I
go back...

namely:

.6-.7 lbs fresh ground beef
10 eggs
"stand and stuff" hard taco shells
bunch of cheese

do you think I can just cook beef with a bunch of chili
powder
make scrambled eggs with a bunch of cheese, dried minced
onion, oregano
cook those shells for 5 min (they SUCK uncooked)
and it'd be good?
+hot sauce after cooking for my wife and prolly +ketchup for
me

usually breakfast tacos are on soft tortillas not hard shit
like that.

I bet it's gonna suck

shells = oven (must!) they taste like garbage otherwise and
no fun to bite off.

for seasoning coriander is recommended for a typical taste,
doesnt matter if fresh or powder imo and of course the right
seasoning is right when it is right for you, alright :)

i love hard shell tacos, though id love to taste all those
original ones from taco chronicles. no such thing here.

another thing essential for me, would be fresh salsa.
really hate the sweet taste of ketchup or bought salsa,
its just sugar. so, pick up some tomatoes or from a can and
some bell peppers, dice em, blend some, frwesh onion garlic,
maybe coriander...

Haven't made them yet! Tomorrow or the next day, to finish
off that beef.

Yeah, normally, buying ingredients I'd go something like

Chorizo and potato hash with a bit of garlic and spices (tho
I wouldn't have thought of cumin)
Eggs with fresh onions, chives, chedder cheese
Wrapped in a lightly broiled tortilla
Served with salsa and a bit of sour cream

but this one gonna be ground beef, hard taco shells and eggs
lol. I said ketchup for me-- I don't even LIKE ketchup on
eggs. But I do like it on ground beef. We'll see how it
goes.

Will report back when I make it.

well, they weren't good.

but they weren't necessarily bad either.

there's just a reason that you never see breakfast tacos
made with hard shells, and that is that the corn meal flavor
overpowers the delicate, neutral eggs pretty fully. The
balance was off.

definitely will make a do over Huevos Rancheros with the
proper vessel and ingredients soon.
