Hi everyone,
how you can see, I'm a newbie but i don't want to bore you
with my stupid quastions. So, where can i get information
about making music like aphex does, what do I need for, what
this whole midi is, how to use fruity loops, pro tools and
etc.
I'm really impressed with the music of aphex twin and I want
to make something for myself.

step 1: steal afx's brain, and insert into your own head

step 2: if u want something simple to start off with...
something not to difficult to learn, try FruityLoops
u can download the full version easily off Kazaa, morpheus,
etc (any file sharing program)

fruityloops is a good intro into computer made music,
IMO....
but if u want something a little more powerful (and
difficult), there are much more advanced programs u can use
(all of which can be downloaded for free... with varying
degrees of difficulty)

step 3: go ahead and ask us questions! a lot of us are
pretty new to this too... while some of us work in fucking
studios so im sure u will find answers

u will definitely end up using a collection of different
programs together, not just one

PS: Reason is also an EXCELLENT program
a lot of people on here use it and love it, and u can go
from simple to very complex music with it...... and its not
too hard to use
it has a pretty good interface, imo

ive heard some VERY good sounding music made with it

PLUS: u can combine it with Cubase, and use cubase to
sequence, mix, and apply sound fx to the stuff u make with
Reason, and this feature is built right in
(cubase isn't hard to find either)

but i suggest u at least start off with fruityloops, its a
good intro

Just get a program.... any program, it wont matter, if you
decide to get more serious you will always know what to get
later once you get to understand these things.

Start playing around with it.. thats pretty much all you
need to do... and then ask questions along the way.
