Pulse looks soooo 80s! Not just the look but the tropes. Fear of your belongings turning on you, a weird old person who knows the score, lots of terrified kids. Have to hunt this one up. The Entity is def on my watch list, a friend mentioned it not long ago and put it back on my radar. |

Sam looks almost as hot as Isabelle Adjani in that thumbnail. I started watching this a while back and bailed because Sam's agony was a little too real. I should grow a dick and try to sit through it again. Just got the remastered Suspiria (1977), it is ART. |

Haven't seen Pulse by Kurosawa, great suggestion! I love the hell out of Demon Seed, I've seen it a few times and I no longer see its flaws as flaws. It's a story that happens on the level of myth. It's about parental anxiety, like The Exorcist. Except in Demon Seed the fear isn't that your kids will be monsters, but that they'll be smarter and better than you and they'll see your shortcomings and want to become independent in ways you can't control and that make a fool of you. It's Oh! You Pretty Things, the movie. |
