Polygon Window (AKA Aphex Twin/AFX/Caustic
Window/Diceman/+bunchofothersalias) Surfing On Sine Waves
[--->S.O.S.W.<---]
(reissued in year 2001 with two extra
tracks 'Portreath Harbour' & Redruth School)

gotcha...
I like Audax Powder cause it seems to be almost sarcastic
sounding. Like that one loop is in there to poke fun at
house music.

I don't like Surfing on Sine Waves...Audax Power is good,
one other track is nice, the rest mostly bores me...

i like DOT too.dark ambient soundscapes and that bass is
good, i didn't even know they could make such ripping bass
back in '93.

Its a fight between Audax Powder and track 7 for me. Audax
Powder was one of my favorites when I first started getting
into Aphex, and it still up there definetly.

i like the first track "polygon window" a lot...i havent
listened to that album for a while...but track 1 is prolly
my favorite...

alberto:...does that dog ever stop pooping!? its like a
pooping machine!
but why is the poop grey? and where does it go when it
disappears?

Queno-Phec really is a great ambient track, it goes with the
album cover perfectly.

Listening to it really loud with my good headphones, I can
just see the sun rising over on the beach over those little
cliffs, with a surfer riding a wave in the distant
background... ahhhhhh yes

it's not a dog actually, it's a cat. regarding your
questions, i don't really know, i think it's a magic cat!
why is your sky blue? and why does it have just one tiny
cloud?

If it really is me is definetly quality, great chill track.
I like to sit back and puff away while listening to it,
great smokin song, those piano riffs are so groovy.

the first track is such a great opener, really nice synth
and high hat work, (is it me or does it sound like some odd
pitch shifting happening on one of the synths at 3.03 into
the track?)
quoth-listen to that kickdrum
supremacy II- "let's see if we can make it a little easier"

P.S

how could I have forgotten about "quixote"... nice filtering
on the Bline, and what about the reverb on that squelch, and
that fucking organ line, almost hypnotic

I love Polygon Window, and Audax Powder is pretty good
(although that one synth that is repeated over and over is
just so damn annoying after a while)

If It REally Is Me is great, and Untitled, Quioxte (sp?),
Portreach Harbour, and Quino Phec are all good!!!

polygon window is good, why didn't i mention it
before. Audax Powder is pretty good, yeah. why on earth did
he release 'Quoth' as the single for the album?

Audax Powder is really good, so is Supremacy and If It
Really is Me... but Quoth sucks the big one... really
horrible choice for a single, doesn't represent the album
well at ALL.

I really love em all....one of fave AFX albums, seems to
hang together really well....

Released before he hit the BIG BIG TIME so I guess he put a
but more care into it....I dunno, it sounds like it to
me....

(PW itself is probably my least fave....heard too much of it
on that AI comp which I seemed to play non-stop for a few
months....NOW that is an compilation that has dated a lot;
have a listen now and you'll see what I mean)...

"we have to make a deal to find out who he is not...." -
that song is total heaven; if you could wear out a CD by
overlaying it, my copy would be almost blank....

What's peoples feeling about the 2 extra tracks?....

Nice, I feel, but not up to the standard of the rest of
SOSW....can't help feeling that WARP re-released with those
just for the cash....

Still, I shouldn't complain....at least we got some new old
AFX....(but I bet there are a lot of other PW stuff...I know
he's mentioned the possibility of releasing em in the past
so maybe one day they will see the light of day....)....
