my dad said i need to write more stuff with tunes to them. he said my music wasn't bad but needs melodies. i know what he means. someone like ceephax has the catchiest melodies going. my digitakt is limited to 4 bars though and my 303 is limited to 4 bars because it's broken. you can do pattern chaining on the digitakt but it's quite limited and the pattern change memory disappears when you turn it off. i quite like the first 6 trax of bubbles and fenix but i'm not sure how to make things more melodic on my current setup. i think my harmony and rhythm is ok but my melodies have a lot of room for improvement. my motto is to just bang out lots of music and keep trying to improve with each album. |
