i have nothing against die antwoord and their trolling behaviour against sjws. after their max normal tv act wasn't going through the roof they started embracing the hypocrisy of their background as white rappers living separated from the country. they used the image in order to look more authentic and at the same time superplastic which makes them a living hypocrisy, which i think is interesting from an artistic perspective. i give them that they are working on their last album now, which will include mainly unknown artist from their country. i think they want to do something good an push some people who normally wouldn't have gotten a chance |

I mostly like their image, their music is, I mean it isn't autechre, so they're kind of like maralyn manson/ nin, basically mediocre music with a trolly image. I like the video where they're in wheelchairs with guns. I saw a movie with a robot or something in it starring those buttholes it was slightly ok as a whole (ass-a-hole) I remember the special effects/cgi was good. |

They definitely come across as haughty in interviews. I’m really not a big fan but like Russelldust, I think they’re kind of fun sometimes. I especially like how they have a dig at Afrikaans culture (In the baby’s on fire video) - Dankie liewe Jesus vir my mama en my papa - I used to recite that prayer as a kid before I got sense. It still baffles me that they got so big because I don’t see how foreigners get a lot of their references. Even the lady Gaga video, which if I remember correctly came about as a result of her wanting them to go on tour with her, which they declined and that turned into a little feud of some kind.
