Why you joined Xltronic?

What prompted you to sign up to Xltronic (back when you
still could)?

I was laughing because I remembered I only ever signed up in
the hope of hooking up with chubby sluts.

I was using aphextwin.nu back in the day when you didn't
need to sign up. I wanted to learn how to make music like
Aphex, it wasn't just his music but his rich lifestyle I
thought I could be rich and successful like him. Now my
silly dreams of getting rich are gone yet I'm obsessed with
gadgets and I still enjoy making music. It's all thanks to
MR RDJ. Not everyone can be successful like Robert Downey
Jr, but Ironman was a great (shit) movie.

hah! i think you might have had more luck luring plus-sized
lasses at almost any other messageboard, xlt is uniquely
male, in a less than wholesome way. if i could post an image
here to illustrate it'd be the_funkmaster all flushed and
sweaty and cumstained in front of his monitor

can't remember exactly why i signed up (as deepspace9mm,
this will have been, in 2003) but i know it was back when my
mum had just got dialup, i was forever tying up the phone
line. probably some nerdlinger question about mp3s off kazaa

I honestly can't remember. I was making music and thought I
could get some advice I think. I'm still here because I have
nothing else

Think I was looking for set mixes. I tried to sign up to
Wattm but they weren’t taking new members at that time,
which lead me here.

This place then immediately started to slowly turn to shit.

and non-binary users on this board

I think my entry point was SAW CD Track 2 (original mix) on
26 Mixes for Cash and I wanted to know if there was a whole
SAW II with beats.

I honestly can’t remember, it was a bit after the release
of confield and I wanted to join a place with like minded
people (yeah right). Used to post on aphextwin.nu and this
seemed like the normal transition. Didn’t post much at
first and enjoyed reading the banter mostly.

seems weird that drukqs came out in 2001 but i didn't sign
up as deepspace until 2003, i remember posting something
about it at the time. no idea what name that was under
though. and zap.to/aphex, does that ring a bell for anyone?
proto-aphextwin.nu shit

a compulsion to interact with people, ive made some good

don't speak to often I like

i too often dont interact enough on here, i don't read
through threads, i like it kinda goes like a longer form
IRC.... special interests forums r cool, facebook doesnt
match it

conversations on facebook are usually one sentence and peter
out very quickly, what helps is on here there is a lot of
inquisitive people and bastard contrarians who make you want
to reply lol

offline steve mcqueen from caerdydd (United Kingdom) on 2019-10-10 23:05 [#02587157]

also very set forms, like everything could be those
'response images' that ppl post... like extended emoji set..
I think only reason i like facebook is for groups with older
people who are still naive enough to post actual content
there, like old scanned photos & such.

yeah I use it to communicate with friends otherwise I don't
think id get to talk to them often, I wish I didn't have to
use it as its quite an evil company over all, its just so
ubiquitous,

tbh ive degraded my signal/noise ratio on there so much with
drunk posts that i don't think anyone pays any attention to
me anymore. i was hoping others would follow suit but not
yet... Also, Fb has taken away the option to 'deactivate my
account' because i would deactivate it except when i was
logged in

tis so weird seeing your mates putting their lives on that
thing tho. It's not like the fucking phone, its not a
transparent thing,... i wish ppl would go back to calling
ppl up instead of stupid fucking txt messages

yeah that's one thing I got rid of 10 years ago the facility
to text, I don't like mobile phones at all, I understand
their usefulness, but I come fine without one, if you don't
have one you get hassled much less because people don't know
your current whereabouts

i have a history of making very poor decisions.
