amazing stuff, I was watching vids about altruism in apes,
when a child falls into their enclosure they often guard it
and keep the other gorillas away,

that could be purely an instinct. there is a video of a
leopard killing an ape and taking care of its child. which
is pretty sad to watch

yeah I saw that, id like to think with higher order apes
they have a higher power of reasoning, as they are social
animals, but yeah you just don't know

i would even argue if a human can be purely altruistic.

i believe that you can teach people to be empathetic. i
learned a lot about empathy from my mom, without her ever
talking about it. i just mirrored her actions and listened
to her observations, i think. also i seem to have a similar
brainchemcial mix
