I used to have a really good solid state amp and big sod off speakers, but I had to downside to a pair of headphones, I think one day I will get a really nice setup, listening through headphones isnt the same |

I have narrowed my selection down to 3 speaker choices I think. The amp is more problematic as it seems that now if you want to drive a pair of £500 speakers well you end up spending even more on the amp. I'm not buying a 30w amp for 120w speakers because I'll constantly be thinking about replacing it. I went to my local hi-fi store to try and listen to some stuff but they were having the floor replaced, the guy still stood in the doorway trying to sell me stuff sight unseen though. |

id have a looka round cash converters or second hand shops, I reckon you could find some decent gear for quite cheap if you know what your looking for |

I went for a big standard amp with enough bum power to drive the KEF q350s I also chose, very excited for it to arrive, looking forward to it! |

Was a good purchase, no regrets. I thought about picking up a turntable and getting my records out of storage but Tidal + wav files is enough for now. |
