Pole or Thomas Brinkman.

Pole is more generic glitch, Brinkman is all vinyl based
glitch.

Both very cool.

The Rip-off Artist has been a favorite of mine right now.

Its kind of like Mouse on Mars with the complexing of
Richard Devine if you want comparisons. His new album 'Pump'
was 47 minutes long, and spanned 69 trax. It was written
about an oil rig that the guy used to work on.

Above all, its about as fun and funky as you can get in this
kind of music.

I don't know exactly what this genre is but if it has
anything to do with what it is titled (it probably doesn't
since retarded names are the ones that seem to catch on) I
recccommmend chulk's "pre" and autechre's "chichlisuite" and
this one song by michael fakesch, probably off the marion
cd.

the clickiest song I've heard is autechre's track 4 on ep7.
It has lots of clicks thereby making it the clickiest song

There are a couple comps floating around right now that
might suite your needts too.

There is that Bit-Hop vol 1 or Glitch-hop vol 1, or whatever
its called. Its a double disc... and its really nice.

its just stuff thats usually kinda minimal and uses the
sounds of glitchy equipment +other stuff...like clicks and
pops and drones as the main source of sounds
see: oval, pan sonic, pole, matmos, rotor+, etc.

offline Taxidermist from Black Grass on 2002-04-21 08:53 [#00186742]

Rotor+ wrote that album with 'Take Control' on it in less
than a weekend.

no... altho take control is similar in form to aphex twin. A
bit housier.

The guy is called rator. The rest ot the cd isn't very good.

Hey Taxidermist ...

I heard bits off the "bit-hop vol 4' (if i remember
correctly - at a local cd store) .. supposedly some french
label / but when searching on the net for it i couldn't find
it?? u got any leads - if it is/was bit hop you were
referring to earlier??

offline Taxidermist from Black Grass on 2002-04-21 12:04 [#00186849]
Points: 9958 Status: Lurker

Are you talking about Bip Hop vol. 4?
It has mira calix and twine and such on it?

offline korben dallas from nz on 2002-04-21 12:07 [#00186854]
Points: 4605 Status: Regular

dunno who it had on it - but heard it being played at a
local record store - tho they didn't "actually" ahve the cd
- just some samples?

should really go and inquire .. mmmhhh.. i'm pretty sure it
was bit-hop, but i could well be wrong .. off to allmusic i
guess .. ta v. much

offline Taxidermist from Black Grass on 2002-04-21 12:09 [#00186858]

I just checked it out in soulseek. One person has it shared,
so you could take a gander in there.

out

LOL... thats what you get for expecting accurate information
from people getting paid minimum wage. Even if it is for a
cool job like a music store, the unconsious subservient
sub-ego resentment factor is still around. :P

offline korben dallas from nz on 2002-04-21 12:27 [#00186874]

hehe..

reading thru allmusic ... i'm pretty sure what i heard was
"datach'i" - sounds very intriguing .. think i might
investigate this guy further - u familiar with his music??

This is no answer to the question but.

i hate glitch music! its overrated.

record or generate some snappy sounds, put them together in
a slow boring way, and add some low key ambience. boring.
it has some potential, but it ends up in being noise for me.
=)

if you like that style of music, the clicks & cuts vol 2
triple cd compilation on milles plateaux is a must.

id also strongly recommend :

Pole - 3
Jan Jelinek - Loop-Finding Jazz Records.
Gramm - Personal Rock

i have heard of a guy called 'rotor' without the
'+'...looked kinda cheesy from the cd cover though...

korben: datach'i is insane...im not sure if thats what you
heard...his stuff is like really chopped up drill n bass...a
bit like go plastic or bucephalus bouncing ball i guess

Aw, you guys, how come no one mentioned Lesser, that guy
kicks ass and is glitch to end all glitches. Also Blectum
from Blechdom

On the datach'i subject, well that guy is OK if you are into
squarepusher clones...
