so i bought a digitone on credit heeh finally learned to do decent bass drums was using the filter resonance for bass drums but that was too shitty. the kicks made a thud that sounded okish on headphones but didnt come across as right on the laptop speaker. someone on facebook taught me a trick for getting good kicks the trick is 'use an LFO with single trig set on exponential wave form' here're some samples: https://soundcloud.com/umbromaniii the kicks sound LUSH now imo |

there's a drive knob, was gonna experiment with it on the kicks, not sure if it will turn out like gabba but will add some nice harmonics to the kicks yeah i got dissed bad on muffwiggler.com for using a laptop speaker to test my music. they used a captain picard facepalm *3. i use spectrum analyser software to check my levels. sometimes my mixing is a little bit off but usually i think it's ok as long as i use the spectrum analyser. a guy called tom cowbell said "in love with this" on soundcloud, made my day :-D |

when i started out 17 years ago i had event 20/20 with samson amp, sold 'em on ebay. really cant be fucked. i havent got the space for monitors. spectrum analyser works really well. listen to my new track "punch".i dont think there's any problem with the mixing on that track. btw they played my track pylon residue at an open decks night last saturday, the bouncer came up to the booth and asked what the track was because of the arabic melody, he was an arabic geezer.and the dj complimented me on the egyptian vibe of the track. no higher compliment than the bouncer liking the song lol. https://britishacid.bandcamp.com/track/pylon-residue |

ive got to back to headphones cos a flatmate got pissed. honestly you could hear it into all the house, trap music all the time, windows are closed now, it resounds, so i didnt argue. headphones are ok with the cold season. |
