I'm new to the sport, to me the main card looked fakey, like Khabib was told to hold back, the drama at the end was staged like some pro wrestling shit, and Rogan and the other commenters sounded like they knew it was coming. IMO they want to turn Khabib into a good villain for the rematch - even though Conor himself is the biggest asshole in sports with the bus attack and insults. This is a money printing machine. I got to watch lots of American advertising on my pirate stream during the prelims, haven't had a TV for 10 years, and my lord, what a completely mentally ill country the US is. They deserve Trump, God's judgment on a sick nation. |

It's a money machine but wasn't staged. This is just what happens when you let two homo sapienses of dubious wit and taste write the screenplay.. on the go. Everyone but UFC is a loser. Irish dude stayed out 2 years, which is death sentence in at least a few other sports at the top world level (some sports even a few weeks/months drops you way down the ladder), and probably could tell, both before and during. Before with all the hype that probably was for the audience (and $) and the other guy, as much as for his own self-confidence. During because you could see glimpses of it in his face when he screwed up and at those times he looked like he was in unfamiliar territory. Unlike that black dude soaking it all up like it was no big deal all the way till he started to wake up over a minute or two before he punched the other guy's lights out. Kebab dude because he looks like even more of a retard as McGregor (see the strong and quiet type of response to McGregor's pre fight noise), with the incredibly boring hug-u-to-death strategy and then full retard shit show like: let me show you how badly I believe in respect by being even more disrespectful to everyone than you were to me, and doing it immediately after earning everyone's respect. Never go full retard. The audience because it was like watching an idiot savant kid one-trick-poney his way to the top of a championship fight, and then take his pants off and throw shit at the audience screaming incoherent crap about respect and blaming the audience for not making sense. To then be told by the organizers that it's not their fault they played with fire and got burned. That this kind of thing isn't what they and the championship are about. |

Yeah good points. Having watched some of the background video on the beef now, I think it wasn't staged, the UFC just happened to leave a lot of oily rags lying around and got lucky. Great crocodile tears about how this is a black eye for the sport etc. The Derrick Lewis fight though, it was like a good Rocky movie in three rounds. I lost my shit when he landed that punch and laid out Volkov in the last seconds, great post fight interview too. |
