Do you like Stewart Lee, and do you find him funny?

Who for? I’ve actually got a reason for this thread. If he
continues sulking I’ll be ok with it though. I’ll have
tried. I’m actually really curious!

Oh I get it, it’s not for AMPI max only anymore, you
posted out of spite!

I watched his new live show and it was really good. I
can’t stand stand up comedians usually, but this was
something else.

I couldn’t imagine you disliking him. Get on iplayer or
whatever, it’s really good.

I should have just made a tread about it. I wasted it on
AMPI, and it’s the last time I try to talk to him. I obv
upset him. Ah well.

Not a fan of stand up, especially with the usual big guns,
but I have to say Lee’s show was a breeze at two hours!

this was brilliant, the "ohhh mate" bit that turns into
incoherent noises had me in tears. nice payoff with the
painting too

i'd be interested to hear why yr not a fan of stand up
though, to me that'd be like "not being into" films or music

It’s one show: Stewart Lee Content Provider.

I guess I’m not very knowledgeable and all the big shots
in the uk do my head in. I love what Bill Hicks did, and
Andy Kaufman, and i like a few brits but steer away from
what you usually see on TV here. If you have any
recommendations, they’d be welcome of course!

i think the best advice i could give is listen to richard
herring's podcast as his taste in comedy is pretty
sound and that's where i've pickrd up most of my
recommendations over the years. if you want to get more
geeky about it you could try stuart goldsmith's podcast too.
they book the less well known comics, not the arse festival
you see on tv most of the time
