To whoever is annoyed by off topic subjects, rants or perhaps a sensitive subject that should be in an appropriate thread....
Everyone does it at times. Sometimes the board is full of threads that are from 10 years ago that have been bumped and no one knows what is going on. This place gets crazy in many ways.
HyperFlake and I have long chats without being aware we are off topic, it just happens. It is usually just a bit of fun, with comedy links, music and all sorts of random stuff and some serious stuff too. I personally just get swept up on a roller-coaster ride and forget what thread I am in. I am sure hyper must do too, as he doesn’t point out we have gone off topic either. It is not intentional at all. If someone had said " hey, off topic, go to a random thread" we would go to one, no problems as would anyone else, I would hope?
Russelldust(aka dusty) suggested a thread for random conversations before, so to try and prevent any off topic'ness. but that idea didn’t stick unfortunately. Also that there could be a private room too, but then others cant join in, when they want. So that's not my type of thing.
So a random thread concept would have been better. and then anyone can join in, if they so wish.
2. someone pointed out I don’t like to swear. True, like perhaps 4 billion other people? But I do not stop anyone swearing. I occasionally link to the Stephen Fry “ don’t be dirty “ video, because it is a funny way to express this. I do swear at times with an asterisk bleep, at least I 'try' to stay true to this value. But sometimes I cant help it when say a terror attack happens. And I do watch comedy shows with swearing too.
So I am not against it, it's just I don’t like to do it myself. If I do swear usually there is a problem to take note of. especially if I don’t not bleep it out.

3. EU BBC free speech Left right politics Yawwwn...and so forth. I am starting to really feel ill about theses subjects as most people have been a long time ago. it takes longer for me as i am still trying to build a world view its not an easy thing to do.
Politicians appear to be like actors, controlled by someone else. No one really appears to know the big picture of what is going on in the world, how we can please everyone, or how to sort it all out. Some people are desperate to know, and some would prefer to remain silent and to silence others too. I personally like to gather the jig saw pieces up and hope to see more light at the end of the tunnel. I also like to help share a few things now and then to maybe inspire something. but some people do get upset even when a new thread is specifically created for the subject.
Hillary Clinton supporters seem to be very caring people in one way...and Donald Trump supporters seem to care in another way. and the Left media and the alt-right media seem to have them at each others throats whilst hiding the wrong doings of the politician from the respective side.
We walk down the high street and everyone seems to be getting on. 95 percent of the time.
4. Child abuse. I know people who were abused at a young age and I don’t like it one bit. I am shocked to the core after hearing so many reports in the news, predicting perhaps millions of children in the UK. I cant grasp the extent.
In my news feeds I am exposed to the stories. and my heart heart say share share..I feel I have no right ‘not’ to talk about it. However, as people are very easily upset by this type of information to the point of aggression, I do stop myself from posting stories I read of. Some people would prefer that no story is posted at all, EVER!, even if a new thread is created.

5.When a terror attack happens some people do not want to know or just feel numb, but some of us do like to comment and that seems more healthy to me than to shut someone down who is concerned. We are not completely powerless whist we can talk about the story
We only hear of a small fraction of what is going on in the MSM. There have been over 33 thousand deadly terror attacks since 2001 and this could be exponential in growth for a very long time.
I find it difficult to except people would prefer silence particularly through aggression and name calling. I am sure silence will not fix the problem. It is hard to know when one should link to a news story without a back lash or a name calling. I see a news story and think "OMG A bombing just happened!!!" I rush to post it on here ( in a new thread) and then halt and think "Should I mention this? will people be upset to read it? Will they get triggered, even if I just post a link and not give an opinion so they can make their own mind up?"
it is hard to know if the subject/message in mind deserves a 'new thread' or if it can be sneaked into an existing thread on the board?
Russelldust was right, a thread for random things and rants. So if anyone finds a conversation going off topic, all one needs to do is say: "go to a random thread" or even give a lazy link to one.
It would also be great if the search feature worked, then we could just find an old thread that is already relative to what we want to say without starting a new thread or changing the subject.

Im willing to concede I haven't been myself lately, and yes I was acting passive aggressive last couple of days, but I was goaded as well when I wasn't at my best. Ive had severe lack of sleep through no lack of my own and as a consequence highly strung at the moment.
