Even though it calls itself the official thread, which is a
faux pas.

I hope “smaller” footballing nations do well.

Saudi arabia have been really let down by their defense,
made Russia look world beaters, second goal was very good
though

They’re well hesitant. Russia are the lowest rated team in
the competition. Still fun. Makes a change from the PL.
I’m not really following though. It’s on in the
background.

yeah im half watching it, I like the matches where the
players from underdog teams really go for it, its often
where you see the best goals as the try anything to score

They probably have this substance that three inadvertently
take and that aren’t detectable with today’s means. They
still won’t go far.

I remember that, I thought he got lucky and it was a really
jammy goal at the time, judging by his career he really was
just a brilliant player and he meant what he did

heard the screams coming from nearby windows yesterday
against argentina and talking about iceland like it was
italy for real, in a manner like 'next we are going to' and
the like

my heart doesnt get exactly warm at the thought of
supporting iceland, though im ready to jump on the winners
bandwagon if they make it past the first round

I guess it was the best neutral choice without going for
enemies. They’re surprisingly good.

Layún miss quite a few shots, and the through pass was
missed a couple of times, they could have won 3-0 on the
break

I love it when you get unexpected results like this, weirdly
germany looked a bit slow and listless I wonder if they
didn't get their EPO through customs

even though they lost germany and they were poor, they still
have probably the most solid team in the tournament, they
dominated the second half
