Your favourite female electronic musicians?

I'll start with Delia Derbyshire

All of the groundbreaking oldies of course (there’s a
lot).

I guess freqy. I’m having a brain freeze and can’t rem
the name of this great act, deep electro. English. Does
Ellen Alien still make music?

yes Delia Derbyshire was incredibly important, I think
things would be very different without her,

another +1 for delia. electronic music does tend to be a bit
of a sausagefest though. i dunno, chicks on speed maybe or
subeena if yer still into dubstep

actually there was a female duo called smartypants who did
great electropop stuff, a bit like moldy peaches with
keyboards, but they weren't well known and have pretty much
zero web presence

replies so far, way too many to sift through

We could site them all, there’s not just delia. Daphne
Oram deserves a worthy mention.

But what about now? I’m not near my computer but don’t
any of you know who I’m talking about? She’s quite
famous, English. Argh! Ardisson is a chick I think.

Andrea Parker does her bit. Pauline Oliveros is another
oldie worth a mention. Now I’m trying to think of this
woman who makes electronic music mostly using human
voices... argh! It’ll come back.
