it is what we are accustomed too. However, a soldier who
fought in ww2 once said "people can get used to anything".

Still, id rather be out on my bike, than on slow interneb

in our day, we used to have to train street pigeons, as we
could not afford specific breeds, to fly off and request
data. The constant pigeon mess left in the computer room ,
which was located in a drainage system, meant we could only
spend 5 mins on the internet back in them days. we had it
tough back then.

I still remember a time we had to climb a mountain each
evening to light a beacon, it would take 6 years just to get
enough information to construct a low resolution GIF

in our day, we used to a have to store information by
tearing the threads and seams in our clothes

we managed to store the NWO headlines of the day in our
pants.

in the evening after the family had be brain washed by the
news, gran used to stitch us back up after doing the
crossword stored in threads of our socks.

we had it tough.

fridges and freezers, washing machines, kettles, toasters
etc that have internet access. for example your fridge can
order food that you are running out of etc. stupid idea,
imagine all your home appliances being hacked.

twas kinda obvious regards the yorkshire men.

I think we also take the net for grated.
So many cool things to be found. You can solve/fix almost
anything with dedication and a search engine.

Before y'd have to take a course in electronics or read a
big book
now y can search each part of the problem and teach yourself
in a whole new way. Amazing, really.

before the internet I would have to use a very old flakey
dictionary to look up a word, or go the library with my dad
for a specific book, I really miss going the library with my
dad.

Yes the knowledge aspect is really really really good, I
just wish I had a couple of hundred lifetimes to make use of
it all

just playing lemmings 2, some of the tracks have really nice
sounds in them

Mid nineties on holiday at my dad’s. Pricey and modem-y.
Slow, yet it was so exciting. Then I rememeber going o
Internet cafes in London, and just marvelling at it all.
First time I downloaded a track it took me 40 minutes to
download a 128 mp3. It was like magic though. A few years
later I discovered the joyrex thing, and aphextwin.nu. Still
here.
