I'm stoked. I've been doing research for a long time to try to find a good turntable I could afford. thought I was going with a rega planar 3 then ending up getting a VPI Mark III with a rega rb300 arm. the fucking thing weighs 48 pounds!! now I have to decide on a good cartridge to buy. any ideas? can't wait to hear how eno's on land or music for airports sounds. I've also collected all of Ae's albums saving them for when for when I got a cartridge I new wouldn't hurt them. warp imports can get quite expensive. hopefully they will sound better now than on this beat up old kenwood that belonged to my parents. are most of you guys using technics 1200's?

dave,
with the way most of the mainstream brands make turntables these days I'll bet your old turntable is better.
cortex,
my dad has an old pioneer, looks pretty cool.

technics 1200 are bad if you're listening rather than djing. don't get one!
me, i'm using an old 70's german 'dual' turntable. lovely solid one i picked up 2nd hand for really cheap. i bought a new ortofon cartridge for it. they're good cartridges.
mmm i love vinyl. you'll enjoy eno.

watermelon man,
yeah...I used to think that technics made the best turntables. after my first day of checking about I quickly realized that they're aren't even on the map as far as listening purpases go. there seems to be a lot of talk about rega, vpi, and sota turntables. I'm planning to spend probably at least three or four hundred on my cartridge. of course then there is the issue of a good phone preamp...the list keeps going on and on.
