anyone watched this movie yet? it's on netflix in the UK.
it was class, proper sci-fi with some great horror elements.
i rate it 8/10.

I'm gonna give this a shot tonight despite being
disappointed to hear that the plot veers off a lot from the
1st novel, which I recently read and loved. Alex Garland is
great though so I trust him to do something good with it.
Other pluses: Oscar Isaac, Jennifer Jason Leigh, always a
pleasure.

(great book series by the way, I'm reading the second one
now)

I wouldn't watch it expecting a direct adaptation of the
book, Garland didn't re-read the novel before writing his
script, he wanted to adapt it like a dream or echo of the
original, rather than straight conversion.

I'll give it a go based on the enthusiasm in this thread. If
it's not as good as "It follows" I will be seeking
explanations.

Shit. It Follows is better imo.

Hehe, just kidding. But I will give it a go, so hard to find
good sci-fi/horror these days...

It was good! No It Follows but solidly entertaining. I can
see why Garland changed the story to be more visual, the
novel was more low key and inner monologuey. You could say
the movie had different subtext as well. Can't say much more
without spoilers.
