Yikes I am dozy. It seems I have read a collection of short stories by Maruo but I don't remember it, i'll have a look at some of his other stuff. I've read punctures, it's great. I've read as much Kago Shintaro as I can find cos his art's amazing but some of his stuff is a bit uncomfortable as it seems to be simply cruel at times. I recommend Super-Conductive Brains Parataxis, Fraction and the one about the giants whose name I can't remember. |

Yes I think I have that one in a compilation of his work. I meant Secret Comics Japan btw, and not Underground... Regarding Punctures: it wasn’t the ending that I was particularly fussed about, in fact it ruined it for me. It’s more about what it had to say about society and it’s anxiety. I dunno, Fleetmouse, maybe you’re just seeing one side. I have some very humanistic stories by him. Mind you Hannibal in the latest tv series was also very human! |
