does anybody here ever worked as seller for headphones and speakers? im in for an interview to make the sales promoter one day and a half a week, i dont know the brand, but its gonna pay me food for the whole month if it goes well. i know shit technically about the headphones and speakers i use, but i told them i produce electronic music. any general info i should know would be appreciated. |

Treat customers as if they were shit unless they buy the most expensive model off of you. When they enquire about cheaper models say "It ain't worth either of our time chatting about this shit. What music you listen to, bruh? Yeah? You need deez right, unless you gay?" and sell them the most expensive. |

know the industry standard models past and present and the specs regards. and why engineers use them. tell him you are burning to learn about all the equipment he has in the ware house. Arrive with a folder of pdfs printed off; some of the items he has in stock, as you were interested. say why those items are great for the money 'or' how they are close to industry standard and worth spending a bit more. never say you are an expert, just enjoy speakers , amps, DAC and want to learn more. Why? cause you like to hear music as the engineers hear it in their studio, as close too, or maybe even better than ( ie less noise distortion by using more modern DAC) what is the best DAC on the market? check Texas instruments for a list , print it off. |

amp and speaker matching is important. how would you be sure you get a good match? regards ohms and watts. speaker connector types, banana , screw and so forth maybe get a list of all hi fi and studio type connectors to refresh your memory. toslink aka optical spdif. stereo, which is similar but not the same as adat multichannel. coaxial cable (shielded) for use in surround. dolby digital dts? max lengths of cables. stuff like that. |

o.k im just thinking what info I would take into an interview to get a job to sell more headphones or speakers. id say i am passionate about reproduction of music at minimal Id get a list of favourite songs that have been produced or google the best produced music in each genre best classical albums best rnb and pop and so forth. not just most sales but the best sound quality, so that if I ever have to demo a speaker I have the best selection of formats and music to offer the customer in my laptop ready to play them, as usually the customer will not arrive with their own cd or wav file. and a nice list of dac's and amps to match the speakers. |

i did the interview with the agency, i will be contacted by a representative of the brand (sony) for a second interview if this satisfied them, ive a few hesitations but the posts freqy did came in handy :) |

you could go to an audio shop and just look listen and feel the new sony gear a line like this in the interview I really like the new sony **** headphones. i love the feel of the cans, the way I can tighten them by sliding the special rails around the top of my head and the cable is very nice and flexible, and they sounded excellent for the price, quite amazing, even on my standard ipod. Just a little story like that helps allot. that you’ve actually gone out to test them. Maybe find the local sony dealer in your area and go and test some stuff. i would write down what I test and grade it at the store. so I don’t forget by the time Id get home. id tell the staff I am just looking with interest, that i want sony, but will not buy for a few weeks. other wise they drool all over you and think they will get a sale. |
