Happy 30th to Red Dwarf

30 years ago today, Red Dwarf aired for the first time. If
we ignore anything after Rob Grant left it's a fantastic
show. Doug Naylor has kept milking the cash cow and there
are occasional glimpses of the classic stuff, still amazing
that it is still going after this long.

Is that your twitter?

I really disliked the Kochanski stuff in the later seasons,
the preferred the Grogan Kochanski by far.

This place is for the witty losers, with 11 twitter
followers.

Nah, it’s his account I think. Wait, is it?

I was 11. I was adapting to the burden of living in a new
town at a school full of people I did not know. I came home
from school, watched some skiing events in the winter
olympics (i think) before going to one of my first for this
teams football training sessions held on a well lit outdoor
tennis court made fit for 5 aside football.

My dad had an RS Sierra Cosworth, the one with the big
aerodynamic spoiler on the back, and he managed to
get me back in time to watch it, despite little to no time
to get from a to b in that time frame.

I never missed a second and having seen the TV schedule, I
would have stayed up for Moonlighting too, rendering me no
such chance to do any homework set that day or due the
following morning.

As a keen procrastinator from birth, this was possibly the
biggest indulgance of a welcome distraction I ever had other
than a sunday I hired 'The Burb's' when rife with unfinished
coursework.

yeah, not sure why they chose to do a boxset, but seems
good value for money, i think my dvds wont last much longer
anyway, should have ripped them years ago. IK get audio
drop outs now and again, and the audio on DNA is
particularly bad, but thats actually on he transfer itself
