should be the only thing important for them

Feminism has so many sub genres now, it’s silly.

Anyway, truth is not in one place.

yes everything is very polarised online it seems, either
your a chauvinist pig or a feminist Nazi. I purposely stay
out of the debate as I have nothing to offer, suppose its
one of those issues that has been going on from time
immemorial

those right wing mongs and social justice warriors are just
two sides of the same mode of thinking as far as I'm
concerned, people who think in absolute terms and don't
appreciate the subtlety of complex issues.

My mum had that terrible day time program on called loose
women, and how they were saying that grid girls on formula
one is old-fashioned and sexist same with darts girls, and
they were saying they are just there to sexy up the event
which is true. Then the next guest that came on was some
model looking bloke and they were joking about his crotch
and laughing like a group of harpies, their lack of self
awareness was quite amazing

(didn't watch the vidya, sorry)
i hate the hating on feminism.
also this internet debate is just attacking straw men they
make of both sides. for maximum drama
i do pretty much identify as a sjw ^_^

I like a bird with hairy armpits wearing a dark vest and a
pair of shorts, a bit like Laura Croft to be honest. I don't
even mind if she hasn't showered in the last couple of days,
I'd still give her a portion. And if that doesn't make me a
feminist ally, I don't know what does.

I welcome feminism as long as it doesn't descended into
misandry and it is a genuine effort to rebalance real
inequalities

self identity .

so i read (listened to, in fact) Fire and Fury, by Michael
Wolff
one of the most surprising facts in it is that Steve
Bannon's favorite paper is The Guardian (i come up with this
now because when I wanted to know what neoliberalism is, I
read a slew of articles on it on The Guardian, including one
that says one of the goals of neoliberalism is to make us
all lonely and depressed)

and I guess that ties in with that I can't help liking
Bannon a bit (just like Wolff, actually, I learnt from an
interview): like so many, like me, he wants to overhaul the
system. he just wants to overhaul it to something I
(probably) don't want at all (probably, because I'm pretty
sure, but you can never be totally sure until the moment is
there, just like we didn't know exactly what Trump wanted)

I read about 100 pages in, but I thought i'll wait until
some definite books come out when everything has
straightened itself out, its interesting to live through a
particularly important part of political history.

At least it's an ethos!

It's interesting how neoliberalism has assimilated most of
the themes and terms of identity politics. The question is
how it will be able to do the same with the neoreactionary
right and even Bannonism. I'm guessing some form of
Oprahfication, self help for pepes.

I'm interested in intersectional feminism

Fire and Fury will be Trumped again by a big Russia trial
politically it's not *really* important to know though, more
on a human level

Its scary and weird how chaotic things are at the top, you
always get these feeling when you young that things are
perfectly stable and expertly professional, reading part of
the book the impression is the blind leading the blind, or
the very incompetent guiding the totally incompetent, and
you realise how much power these cretins potentially wields
it utterly nuts. Its a international scale equivalent of
when a small child gets their parents car keys and drives
off down the motorway, untold damage will be done

so i lost a lot of Facebookfriends over the identity
politics thing. i'll explain it as shortly as possible: here
in the Netherlands righties say 'stop importing' the black
lives matter stuff from the US, kind of glossing over we
also have a dark past, shipping slaves, having colonies.

so i can abide by people being uneducated and i can abide by
them being wrong (that is: not as lefty as me), but combined
that's just too much and i just unfriend them. also because
my Facebook is not a public forum.

(so for the boring personal stuff)

(yes at fleet's "At least it's an ethos! and lol etc
at rest)

i did make this Facebookpost about this:
"Fire and Fury is mostly about the inner workings of Trump's
White House. Watching interviews with author Michael Wolff,
I understand I'm supposed to draw the conclusion it's
working bad. I don't completely disagree, but also feel
Trump's White House (dys)functions a lot like most of the
places I've worked at."

by which I mean politics is just human work

yes, the times are interesting

I read No Is Not Enough, by Naomi Klein. she says, and I
agree, Trump is a result, not a cause. I totally recommend
the book. it's party for Trump addicts like us, part about
how 'disaster capitalism' work and part about the solutions
(softie solutions, but I'm afraid that's all we've got?)

democrats are completely bought by wall street, it's
criminal
republicans are just worse in that they're maybe more bought
by billionaires?

i have zero sympathy anymore for the argument you should
have voted Clinton to have kept out Trump. that's been going
on for decades and part of why we're in this mess. besides
wall street it's just this politics of trying to get on with
everyone. partly that's good, because that *is* politics,
but mostly that's gone way too far

yes the interests of the common man on the street are well
down on the list of priorities I guess, I think Trump
resonated with the drain the swamp spiel, well his campaign
manager did well to use those soundbytes, it goes down well
with someone who doesn't have much of a capacity for
critical thinking, just a shame he is essentially the
creature from the black lagoon as far as swamps go

totally

if I'm calling the democrats criminal, crooked Trump is in
another stratosphere above that, of course

i hope the voter learns a bit from it

the democrats (the dnc) sure seem to have not learnt,
though, though who knows, maybe they'll put forth a decent

I can empathise with them as they are being constantly
bombarded by thinly veiled propaganda, and attack adds, you
sort of have to go out of your way to get something that
even beings to approximate the truth, its very obscured in
most political systems

it's so terrible it's perfect
still wouldn't mind too much if the nra got banned, but
probably shouldn't think that, because then stuff I like
will get banned too. in a democracy I can say 'screw the NRA
to hell', though

it's perfectly terrible because it's this brand thing Klein
also talks about (in no Logo and No Is Not Enough): the
brand is just a feeling, completely dissociated from the
product.

Individual choice and markets are of paramount importance
both as an expression of individual liberty and driving
force of economic prosperity

It's this ahistorical, utopian sense that context doesn't
matter that really gives it away - let's ignore the nature
of the choices, that one man is choosing between rent and
pain medicine for his dying wife, and another man is
choosing between a big boat and a bigger boat.

"The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor
alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to
steal their bread." - Anatole France

but read the conversation further down
and i want to finish reading this thing that's in
the side bar. afaik the founders of neoliberalism weren't
Ayn Rands, and I can believe neoliberalism means two things:
a decent economic model as well as the name for the shit
economics being shoved down our throats

did I mention I'm reading Varoufakis? in a foot note he
says: the way the 'silver ware' of Greece was being put on
sale dirt cheap would have made Thatcher shiver', meaning
the neoliberalism of today wouldn't even fly with Thatcher
