heard about this last night on the world service, i was a
big fan of the left hand of darkness. she was more than
"just" a sci-fi writer, poetry and children's fiction too
which i was sadly remiss in not knowing. gonna do me some
digging

A damned shame, I loved The Lathe of Heaven, of which the
1980 tv adaptation is great and has lots of that low budget
70s spooky lonely sci fi TV feeling. But the book is better.
Also started reading the Earthsea books with lil' mouse. She
had a real gift for visual language.

a true genius, earthsea is the best 'coming of age' fantasy
ever written
