what horror movies are you watching for this halloween
period? I'm struggling to find new things that aren't shit
cos I watch horror movies all year round so I'm rewatching
some stuff tonight. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Pulse.

Yeah it's one of my absolute faves. Still chilling even
though it looks a bit hokey.

If you haven't seen it yet, I strongly recommend We Are
Still Here. Stay away from spoilers.

Yeah as soon as I posted I remember that one as well. You
should watch the Japanese movie, everyone should. It's a
very quiet and very creepy time.

i started too early with horror films. my parents never
cared about me watching tv late at night. so i was always
laughing at me peers jumping behind the couch. but survival
horror games, or worse survival horror vr games make me feel
like watching my first horror movie again, ugh

I can't even play resident evil 7 in VR. it's far too
intense, leagues ahead of any movie experience for the
immersion.

Hum. I'm guessing you've seen all the ones I'm likely to
mention. The Witch? It Follows? Grave Encounters? (only the
first one, the sequel sucked ass) The Wailing?

I might watch an old classic like Vampire Circus or Five
Million Years to Earth. Also open to your own
recommendations.

i talked about the idea of getting ptsd from vr video games
with a researcher. he said, it wouldnt work, because smell
is very important. then i saw that they sell a candle for
resident evil vr, that smells like dead bodys. evil :D

Don't Deliver Us From Evil, a French film from 1971 about 2 Catholic
school-girls who get into Satanism is my favorite

I think you'll like it, there are some elements of comedy in
the way they skewer the ghost hunting reality show genre,
but most of it is atmospheric and scary.

jap pulse was great it always gets me thinking. killer mood
in it too. btw you ever watched cure? i watch it around this
time for a few years

grave encounters i really liked when i saw it. dont expect
anything deep about it.

outlast 2 was cool. im pretty HARD so i played it on hard
and late at night alone. can leave ur nerves feeling pretty
shreded

theres an australian horror called mungo lake or something?
years ago i saw it - but im pretty sure its really quite
good indeks. mockumentary style thing. has a sort of dont
look now vibe. ignore the 6 /10 rating at imdb and give it a
shot i recon

oh yes I liked Lake Mungo. It's quiet and fucks with your
head.

Some nice tips here, I totally endorse Grave Encounters,
it's a film I wish I could see for the first time again.
It's odd because it's not that great, or
groundbreaking or anything... but it's got just the right
mix of horror and a bit of humour, and it's ever so well
done.

I will check out Lake Mungo and Don't Deliver Us From Evil,
one Hallloween I ruined by watching The Bees.

I've never seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre II (or maybe I did
years ago and forgot) - but I was listening to some cultural
show (of course) after Tobe Hooper died, and they were
saying that the sequel that he did is kind of a parody but
at same time, still disquieting, unsettling and bonkers. Is
this the case?
