did you ever have one?
or does it happen to you a lot even?
how did you blow em?
in the past 20 years i blew 2, both times its the rubber
that seems to have gone all crumbly dry and started falling
apart.
they were both JBL control models and lasted less than 10
years i figure.
the last one i blew i noticed during the cannon fire scene
in the first minutes of master and commander :(

i ordered a 2 rubber repair kit for about 20€
once i repaired the blown ones of a pair each i will have a
spare pair to give to the lady.

your right I fix my tv, felt great, hardest thing with
fixing stuff is finding the motivation to do it, often saves
loads of money, you could even upgrade the speakers as well
put better speakers in the cabinet or what not

indeed,it may not always be fun in the process,
especially getting the know. but when youre done its so very
rewarding. and some fixes are done dirt cheap and fast.

yes my brother still has his tv from 1985 because he has
this philosophy, he doesn't really watch tv anymore but yeah
people chuck stuff out when its not necessary

im sure it is rewarding to fix things, thats what chinese
repair shops were originally intended for, to reward you. i
just need to get over the lazyness and phisically bring the
speakers to them

i always fear the noise terror that comes from plugging
unplugging things that are somewhat connected to the stereo.
the loudest and worst of all is when i accidently disconnect
the hdmi cable that goes from pc to tv. the tv is not
connected to the stereo itself, but my pc is and the hdd
player that is also connected to the tv is aswell. and its
hell of a nasty loud sound :/
hdmi should come with a clamp to secure the cables from
unplugging...

fixed the rubber on blown speaker no.1 yesterday,
works like a charm :)
now putting the glue on the second one.
having kept the broken ones finally paid off :)

nice one, yes hdmi cables are only slightly better than usb,
I don't know who designs these things but they never seem
optimal, I guess they are trying to keep costs down, also I
guess old people tripping over the cables would ruin there
new flat screen tvs
