Yeah Bane
So I watched the ghostbusters review this morning because it showed up on my youtube feed. The director Paul Feig reminds me of Michael Gove the politician. They're both sort of posh and twatty. His assistant writer is freaking hawt imo. It's a shame that for all their kindness and enthusiasm that they made such a shit film. Oh well.
I totally agree that the black woman was the funniest. I laughed when Plinkett says "STOP TALKING". And I agree that the original Ghostbusters is underrated. Respect due to Red letter for caring about this shit, they should be paid by hollywood to review scripts.

Yes the little edits they did improved it and it was so easy to do, the main issue was that there was no real script it was just ad libbed badly 90% of the way through

funnily enough I read that article a while ago, what I would say more than women not being funny is that American movies on the whole aren't funny, also I suppose I can count on one hand the amount of women that make me laugh, I think its down to being male as well,

the reason you tend to get more engineers that are male, is that on the whole it just appeals to the male mind more, its just true no matter how you spin it, to deny reality isn't sexist its just stating the truth,

I didn't buy the ladies dressed as nuclear engineers thing at all. All the way through I'm thinking "these are lame American comedians". I'm surprised by how many poo and fart jokes Plinkett points out. And the oops I fell over thing happened so many times. Can't believe how babyish it is.

Women in movies are there for sex appeal, without that there's little of interest to see. No sex appeal.
In a comedy there are supposed to be funny characters like Rodney Dangerfield and Chevy Chase. No funny characters.
The script should have been deadpan and witty. Instead it's babyish and improvised trash. No jokes.
The overall plot is stolen from the first movie. Paul Feig and his hot assistant should not write again.

I know what you mean, yeah. It seems like all great directors have a period where they make such great things, that expectations are often too highly set from then on. Maybe they get cocky, maybe the pressure, maybe we don't get them anymore. Money, bah we could talk about it for hours. We were talking about Scott and a few others if I rem correctly only recently.
Speaking of which, I tired to watch Shutter's Island but just wasn't in the mood after a bit. If you've seen it, should I keep the recording and watch it?

I haven't seen it, is it a Scorsese film? I will have to watch it myself, yeah I think he suffered the same in wolf from wall street and gangs of new York, like take his tax driver, goodfellas formula and apply it to other stories where the wise guy thing doesn't work as well, he is essentially remaking his own film but with diminishing returns each time, still even his bad films are usually good, I think even casino was basically goodfellas more ore less

Though I would say that I thought Casino was ace, and I guess always preferred to imagine it was done purposely (possibly just denial), the similarities with Goodfellas.

I did once try to watch the new Ghostbusters but bailed after about 15 minutes. I like in the Plinkett video the actor chortling that they filmed long sessions of their weak-sauce ad-libbed scenes - as if, Terrence Malick like, Feig might conceivably go back and edit a 5 hour version of the film.
Shutter Island I found deeply disappointing. It starts off good. I won't give an spoilers, only to say it manages to spoil itself about two thirds of the way through and from that point I found I didn't care.

Can it be said that modern cinema is a reflection of the general dumbing down of society? then again I think the general public realised it was a load of bollocks, the only people defending it are the PC brigade

you will be labelled with some form of 'ism.' or 'ist' very quickly..
they are programmed by the globalist to weaken you and move forward the new world order agenda.
