Been a few years. New things afoot for me. What's been
happening?

Been a few years so much has changed for me too. Summer heat
huh? It's winter here and despite it being colder, I prefer
it to summer.

I'll be a bit more specific. What has been happening for
people creatively? New projects etc. Please share links if
you have them. Generally interested and am enjoying hearing
new stuff too. Personally, I have started really getting
into glitch art and started a new music thang in the last
year or so (breakcore stuff is on the side but not a real
priority). Have also started using renoise (which I'm really
enjoying), got myself some gear (more to come as I can
afford) and set up a home studio.

Well, this place has died a little more since you left.

There's the odd troll, argument, and rant. The remaining
members (myself included) all have serious mental problems.
I'm sure you'll get some music from people though, that
flame is still alive.

I hear ya. I took a break from everything due to my own
mental health problems. Saw a counsellor and got my life
back on track and now the fire is strong in me to make music
:)

problems!

Actually yes I probably do hehe

yeah love it. A little different to what I was previously
used to, though my workflow has improved considerably and I
find the lack of the visual so to speak, encourages me to
concentrate more on listening.

what i like about it like other trackers is the ability to
quickly change midi parameters relatively quickly without
having to open other dialogue windows or scrolling through
automation graphs

I haven't really explored midi much in it. Apart from being
most of the way through setting up an xbox controller as a
midi controller. It didn't seem too difficult, although I
don't really have anything else to compare it to.

how are you interfacing the controller?

Using Pure Data (extended version). Xbox controller is usb
and is mostly mapped and works in renoise, was talked
through it by a friend who has done it before and used it
live. Was planning to do a tutorial after it's done, tho is
on hold for the moment, other things on the go. Like trying
to get more tracks down and work towards a live set and also
have been doing a lot of glitch art. Have guitar hero
guitars and access to drum kit i'd thought of setting up
once i got the xbox thang down.

Oh and I had to figure out how to get it going in renoise as
my friend has never used it and despite having little
experience hooking up midi controllers in any DAW ot was
relatively easy.

I had a go at doing something similar in supercollider,
human interface, make it into a random noise controller,
analogue sticks to controller envelope rates and stuff like
that, i really should develop it further

Controller has been put on hold (again hehe) as I have other
projects that need priority. I am glad to be reminded tho
and aim to finish it as soon as I can. ;)
