In the week we got a Now TV box, thing, and I watched this
new Twin Peaks, thing, over three days (as I am currently
underemployed). I feel like I am in a Lynch world.
More so than usual. I think attempts at explaining it
all are futile. It's dream logic. The last episode
infuriated me on first watching (until the last second,
obvs) and then, after a period of reflection, I just
thought, my god, that was astonishing.

I love the kettle things. I loved Dougie, he was like a
newborn, it was very touching. Some very funny bits in the
series, some very scary bits. It was leagues better than
anything ever made by anyone ever.

i got super-duepr creative after watching "the return". i
thought id given up on my half-assed, bedroom-produced
analogue/digital budget music, but NO. the return made me
make music again (after not doing SHIT for a year or
something), plus jesus made me stop drinking. one of these
thigns are true.

(the sound design/ambient music/weirdo effects in the return
is so sexy i want to rape a ghost)

SPOILER ALERT:

one of my favourite things about "the return" is laura
dern's character(s). i've always loved laura dern, she
really is in the top shelf of actresses. when watching the
return i thought she was really shit, showing no human
qualities at all, acting like a robot. well here's the
spoiler: she never was "human". this thing hit me like a
freight train when watching.

Spoiler: Yeah she was one of a few (i think) tulpas created
by bad Coop. It’s why he raped her I guess.

Mark Frost ama. Bit short, and full of huge
spoilers (for those who haven’t read the Final Dossier
which just came out).

The more I think about this, the more I love it. I watched
it in a three-day binge and, whether that was the best way
to watch it or not, I was profoundly moved. And as time goes
on I can still feel it simmering in me. The finale which at
first I thought was a bit "What?" now comes back to
haunt me more and more. I loved it like nothing I've loved
for a looooonnnnngggggg while. But I don't want to
know any fan theory, or expanded universe or whatever. All I
want is what was there, how it makes me feel, and what it
says. And it's fucking astonishing.

Nicely put, my friend. Glad you liked it.

Lynch said he made it as an 18 hour movie, so I guess a
three day binge is pretty damn good.

Yes, that finale...

There’s a site I check from time to time. No fan theory,
it’s more like an encyclopaedia. I find it practical and
got to make sense of a few things I had missed. But yeah I
totally get you, and I think it’s the desired intent from
ththe creators.

It’s fun to talk about though.

That site I mention, I just found it by chance searching for
info on Annie’s Blackburn, and from there on I
kept clicking for a good half hour.

Sorry, I'm not suggesting there shouldn't be discussion or
theories, and nor am I saying that you're suggesting that I
am ... not .. suggesting. It is fun to talk through. But, I
guess, what I mean, is, I read some things that purport to
unlock the structure, or over-explain... I mean,
things like details and characters is one thing, but...
overarching theories another.

It's a great 18 hour long movie, and a great Lynch movie. I
need to watch the end again, I'm gearing myself up for it.

There’s tons of over indulgent ponces making pretty dumb
theories out there. It’s tedious and i don’t partake
either.

I’m watching the return again, about to hit episode 8 and
the birth of Bob.

Anything that makes Staz AND RussellDust happy makes
me happy.

I'll have to watch that post desert scene again that's
tickled EOD so much. TBH I have to watch the whole thing
again which I am MORE THAN HAPPY to do.
