I love those brutalist estates, its where i would go if there was an apocalypse, going from flat to flat looking for tinned goods.

i mean, i don't like them because they wind people up at all, i honestly like looking at them, and like being around them. The whole of Cwmbran shopping centre (1959) is like it, and they're always on about ripping it out and redoing it, which would break my heart.

The usual suspects, Gerry, Hadid, Calatrava, and a load I can't rem the name of. Le Corbusier was pretty radical but he influenced a shitload of shit, and is partly responsible for a lot of today's shitty appartement blocks, and council flats.

the way i see it (barry) is that whatever they're going to build there instead is going to be infinitely shitter looking. How long is it going to take for todays architecture to look vaguely appealing? At least that old stuff had some balls and was usually built to last - my mate was renting a house and the fucking front fell off!! Anyway.., what I meant to post was this funny studentroom link LAZY_TITLE ..... And ta for the linx Russell.

Pretty much my favorite architect Designed a building here in my state, the Phillips 66 Bldg. I've yet to see his work in person, maybe someday eh

I meant Frank Gehry, not Gerry. I'm sure you will dig his work, same with the others I mention, maybe bar Le Corbusier. I sited him because of the relative importance he has today. Somewhat unfortunately.
