Sad, but not shocking.

it IS shocking to me. new tour, new album coming soon.
totally unexpected AND too soon for a 52 y o guy ? I've
listened to Soundgarden or Cornell music for years and last
year played their music almost everyday. I didn't see it
coming. At all.

Of course, and I understand your point.

I guess what I meant was that it is very sad, but when
cleberities die too young I'm rarely surprised anymore. Last
time i was kinda shocked by a death was Aliyah. Possibly
Phillip Seymour Hoffman, but that was coming.

from all I know he's.....I mean he WAS [damn] long past any
addictions. but I don't follow news or facebook or whatever
so I might be totally out of the loop. I just watched many
SG or Cornell interviews lately on yt, awaiting new stuff
coming. the bigger the shock.

He's alllowed to be depressed at times, even if clean.

Anyway we'll know more soon. Meds overdose, accidental
possibly. I hope fans like you will know exactly what
happened. Sorry it hit you so bad.

"A police source talking to WWJ Newsradio 950 Thursday
morning said the 52-year-old singer-songwriter was found in
the bathroom of his room at the MGM Grand Detroit hotel,
after apparently taking his own life.

WWJ has since learned an autopsy by the Wayne County Medical
Examiner determined Cornell committed suicide by hanging."

i know its idle speculation, but was watching a video of the
concert last night, and he is singing like a fraction of a
second behind the music, its really weird

I hope it wasn't one of those "fancy wank gone wrong"
episodes.

I was thinking if Aphex ever got a bit depressed (god
forbid) that he would probably kill himself with some
elaborate setup like the boardgame mouse trap that resulted
in him dropping a massive synthesizer on his head.

@SignedUpToLOL your posts cheer me up most of the time, thx

@Hyperflake yeah I checked exact same wiki page today. and
chuckle @ the elaborate setup

@RussellDust luckily I never did drugs or hard drugs so I
can only imagine [and heard about it] how uneasy it is to
swim out of that. for years I believed Cornell is one of
those heroes who managed to win. also for the last months
when I moved out from my wife after 10 years together [and
lived by myself for the first time] Soundgarden/Cornell
music and lyrics and his life and family story was a huge
help in believing that things can get better for me again,
at the age of 40 - and in getting my shit together on my
own. so I perceive his death on personal level, as well as
on a band fan level too. it made me realize I'm a survivor
and my own hero, surely stronger than I think I am. and thx
for kind reply.

good to hear your doing well,

yes i mean i really really didnt think he was the sort to
top himself but goes to show you have no idea what goes on
in someones brain just by looking at them in a visual sense
