bought ripple and eth on kraken, then transfered to paper
wallets. it's a good idea to live in Denmark when investing
seriously in crypto, because we don't pay any tax at all on
the investment. crypto is seen like as if you purchase a
painting and then sell it - an entirely private matter,
which means that it isn't taxed at all.

Just.. beware. I lost all my... one bitcoin... in an
exchange. They won't let the public buy them easily with
atms until the price is sky high, all the elites and
existing entrenched rich and powerful buy low in this system
too. I like the ideology of voluntaryism spread by anarchist
propagandists, but there's potentially a "spread the wealth"
sort of "communist" (which I don't like since it requires
social engineer authorities) version of crypto currency that
might be able to exist that wouldn't violate the non
aggression principle if people voluntarily chose to use it.
Bitcoin is supposed to be programmable money, so the simple
idea is have an altcoin be programmed to smooth out the
wealth gap. Different altcoins could do different
experiments. maybe 1 puts a wealth limit of a billion and
after that it spreads to the poor. maybe another just weighs
every person's wealth a percentage toward the average
slightly. If this is technically possible, and people
voluntarily choose this altcoin, it's not communism.
Actually the main problem with the world is land is
monopolized/regulated/rigged. If people can homestead their
own unused land, and live any way they want on it, growing
their own food, homelessness is eradicated and being poor
wouldn't matter much; you wouldn't be "forced" to work for
the corporatocracy in order to pay artificially high non
free market rents, or a huge price hurdle of a house and
then you still rent but less at least via property tax.

Umbroman do you still think its worth investing in, is the
bottom about to fall out of cryptocurrency?

offline umbroman3 from United Kingdom on 2017-08-17 19:07 [#02528747]

it's all in its infancy, imagine the price of these coins in
10 years time, it will be ridiculous

bitcoin is american
ethereum is russian
neo is chinese

i think they're the top 3 to invest in
be prepared to wait 10 years

then there's stuff liek vertcoin which you can still mine on
your computer
i still havent worked out how to mine

ive gotta repair some gadgets and stuff, after that im gonna
put 400 a month into this and mine stuff too on my new
lappy

nice one, what is supporting the currency, what I worry is
that its outlawed by under some spurious reason made by
mainstream banks, also how to do you keep your virtual
wallet away from hackers

sorry I don't know much about it, isn't the valuation just
current inflated because of currency speculation, isn't it a
bubble that will deflate?

it's like football
just a bunch of idiots kicking a ball around
but people are willing to pay lots of money for it
footballers make loads of money etc

actually it's nothing like football
it's like star wars
it's really cool and adventerous

it's a pyramid scheme the size of the entire world's
population
eventually everyone will use digital currency
smart contracts
internet of things

when i bought my laptop from cex yesterday it said "bitcoin
accepted here" and there are coffee shops that accept it

banks are doing contracts and trades using ethereum

there are real world uses for this technology

is it...

transactions are heavily encrypted and the coins are secured
too.

and so lots of miners are needed to make a transaction
work?

and when a miner helps with a transaction a small fee is
paid to the miner for use of their machine as a 'bit of a
coin'.

and over time that bit of a coin value will fluctuate and if
your lucky a whole coin could worth s much as a million
pounds?
