Let's let go of our tough xlt image. Please share tracks
that strike, or have struck an emotional chord with you. Sad
shit, stuff that leaves you feeling exposed. Things you have
cried to. You don't have to have cried though, if you're not
that type.

I dunno where to start. I could post an awful lot of tracks.
Saw 101 the other night on TV and this bit made me
all wobbly.

station to station the track has lyrics that get to me i
dont know why

"Once there were mountains on mountains
And once there were sunbirds
to soar with
And once I could
never be down
Got to keep searching
and searching
And oh what will I be believing
and who will connect me with love?
Wonder who wonder who
wonder when
Have you sought fortune evasive and shy?
Drink to the men who protect you and I
Drink drink drain your glass
raise your glass high"

Aw, I guess you must have lost your job back when you were
playing this on repeat. Or maybe your footy team had been
relegated. Sad stuff. Good post.

Thank you. Would you mind sharing what the lyrics are
about?

There's one thing that struck me, and I may have got it
wrong but either way I'm glad I saw that image: at the very
start, the guy looks at at homeless guy, waits for a very
long second and puts a piece of gum in his mouth and walks
off.

Ok, now I get the context after seeing the whole video.

I once played this to death and then never again, as it can
happen.

The situation I was in, the lyrics about the highs not
fading, about the highs not hurting, the repetitive chords,
the melancholy ridden melody and singing are what must have
done it for me at that time.

Oh yeah maybe also this documentary I first heard
it in, about a rather talented, and unfortunate snowboarder.

a particular memory attached to it, but the other day they
played it at the radio while i was driving, and it made me
all wobbly

I have to sign in to YouTube for that because of mature
content. Any other link available?

Cohen, classic sad-songster.

Actually that's just too soppy out of context.

Not a track but watching this first time made me
well up. I've half done this myself once before by breaking
up fights, but i was well short on a explaining myself with
a message.

Just refreshing to see someone making sense of everyday
nonsense and having courage in revealing it to others, even
in the face of possible ridicule, or worse.

As for songs, Talk Talk - I Believe in You.

Ohh, Talk Talk "I believe in you" - seconded.

Things that fix me in a time that's ongoing and still make
me cry *OPENLY* are

American Music Club Dead part of you (and probably all their
stuff)

Kitchens of Distinction 4 Men (the original
version)
