My top 5 movies were all horror movies. Not sure if that
says more about me or 2016.

What were they? I was a bit disappointed by the horror
flicks this year - I did like The VVitch, is that 2015 or
2016?

The Conjuring 2 was not bad, same with Lights Out. Blair
Witch and Don't Breathe were disappointments, The Shallows
was better than expected and Train to Busan was decent but
ruined by the ending imo.

i saw that blair witch just recently. it was really bad. im
really SICK of horror movies having something long and
fleshy like out of the decent. ykno the long fleshy pale
thing that screeches at the cam thats been in horror movies
for what feels like eternity now

Have you watched the films of Ben Wheatley? He's my fave
contemporary UK director: Down Terrace, Kill List,
Sightseers, A Field in England, High-Rise, all great films
:)

My top 5 were

The Witch (which was early 2016 and strangely thematically
prophetic for the year that followed)
The Wailing
Under The Shadow
Shin Godzilla
Green Room
Creepy

That's six which I guess is fair enough seeing as both shin
godzilla and green room could be construed as more thrillers
so I'll add them together as 1.

Green Room was a decent flick, definitely, finally get to
see Cptn Picard as the fascist I always knew he was

I thought Green Room was top. Absolutely nerve wracking and
pickard is scarier than any monster really. It moved at a
nice pace, was a refreshing idea which felt like it could go
tits up and used it's premise of being trapped in a much
more interesting way than something like Don't Breathe.

I totally agree - have you seen his other films? Blue Ruin
and Murder Party? I love how his protagonists are so inept,
makes a refreshing change to film characters always being
smoothe and successful

Ive seen blue ruin bur not had a chance to watch murder
party yet. I think having watched blue ruin before hand
helped me enjoy green room more, as I knew to expect
terrible times ahead for the protagonists which just ramped
up the tension.

I'll definitely grab Green Room now. Been meaning to see
Silence too.
The Witch was great, that's prob my top 2016 flick.
Wouldst thou like to live deliciously?

you see, within 60 or 70 years, everyone will look at burial
as onion ring of hardcore music

that doesnt sound well in english, in italy we use to say
'missing ring' what you intend for 'missing link' so that
was my joke with the onion ring. kind of a missing ring that
tune is instead, like a message from the past.

the margaret cho episode; she mentions GPO becoming his wife
and jerry only has a small quip or something and didn't seem
to know who it was, but yeah :D

Ah that'll be why, I really don't care for her... but if
there is Seinfeld making a Genesis P Orridge reference I
might reconsider!
